Thanks zfat...I missed the free assistance any further info appreciated.

Is there a threaded bung for a tow hook behind the existing front and rear covers or not?

I bought it for my daughter due to it's high safety rating.

But I really like driving it. It's fun to drive. It's quicker than the mag numbers would indicate, and handles very well for an econobox.

Since it normally only gets driven <30 miles a day, it's only used 9 gallons of gas since December, 4100 miles later.

The weirdest/coolest thing, is never even THINKING of going to a gas station. You park it at home, plug it in. It goes to the gas station for you while you sleep.

40 miles of driving costs $1.10 in fuel.

I think you are better off with the Z/28 with shorter tires. A tall spare will not fit in the well.

Always put the spare in the front.

I won't know where it mounts until I stick the Z28 up in the air. You will use grade 8 hardware, and I'm going to put two at each end. If I mount it well enough, in a clever enough position, you can use them for trailer tiedowns. You will need a secure holder for the loose straps.

If you've ever trailered a Z06, you'll see what I mean. A bitch to tie down.

IIRC, it was about $25.8k out the door after all incentives. We are really happy with it.

How happy?

When my wife wants to run errands, she can chose her CTS-V or the Volt. We don't care about mpg, it's that the Volt is more fun in the city.
She takes the Volt most the time.

It's going to suck when Allison turns 16 proper and we lose it. Might have to buy another.

EDIT: Always drive it in L (not D) and in Sport mode. L does NOT mean low. It will go 100mph before it hits the limiter in either L or D.
L = Max Regen. When you lift, it's like a high compression manual gas engine with serious engine braking. However, that engine braking goes right back into the battery range.

Double Edit.

Drive a Spark EV. It's a gocart. Quicker than most cars on the road. 86mph trap speeds in the quarter.

Do you think the spare wheel tire combo of 135/80 R18 is close enough to the 305/30 R19 so you could put a spare on the rear without an issue with the diff or just not worth even the smallest potential issue and just do a 2nd swap if you get a rear flat?

I know this is all low probability but in my estimation a flat means a tow and a tow means major hassle and possible damage so I want to get the spare done.

Just make sure the weight rating is suitable and it clears the brakes.

There is more than 1% difference in tire rollout between runs. How hot the mold is, how fast it cools, can change plastic dims quite a bit. Even humidity changes it.

As wide as the tires are, it would be more of a chance of a flat.
