I was actually really wanting the actress that played Sif in Thor to be Wonder Woman. she's attractive, muscle toned and has the features like Diana.

So much hate about Ben Affleck playing batman you haven't even seen a trailer yet to determine if he is good in it or not. I was hoping that Lita the WWE hall of fame Diva to play wonder woman.

I picture him to act very similar to Dare Devil, which was not very good. lol

I'll wait until I see the movie to judge. dare devil was out in 2003 and I feel like Ben has grown as an actor. can't wait to see a trailer to see whats going on but I can't say anything until I see the movie. it's the schrodinger's cat thing. could be bad acting in the movie could be great acting. don't know until the movie is seen (or in the cat's case, until the box is opened)

Pee Wee Herman as batman would go over just as easily for me
I'll agree that Hollywood is lost. Remakes, rehashes and sequels of movies that need no sequel.

the studios dont care right now they only see

For any super hero movie they can make or remake. What are we on the 3rd hulk in 15 years. Some come out great and some are very very bad. Ben Affleck has never impressed me as an actor (he is avg) and is to well known. This seems like it will go like Val Kilmer in the 80's Batman Forever completely forgettable.

Right. Since movie executives really don't know, and never have, what makes a movie successful in the eyes of consumers, they're now too spineless to take any risk these days. They KNOW that enough millions will go to see these remakes of remakes of remakes of remakes that they'll at least generate some level of profits. At least it won't bomb like some big budget movies have, "Ishtar" and "Gigli" comes to mind.
Some of the most successful films ever made financially and otherwise were hated by executives who didn't want to release them:

AMERICAN GRAFFITI: Movie execs hated it and Lucas had to fight tooth and nail to get it released.
Results:The film was released to critical acclaim and financial success, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Produced on a $775,000 budget, it has become one of the most profitable films of all time. Since its initial release, American Graffiti has garnered an estimated return of well over $200 million in box office gross and home video sales, not including merchandising.

STAR WARS: One of THE most significant movies of all times. No studio would touch it, all rejected it. Only Lucas' clout from the success of AMERICAN GRAFFITI got a studio to finally pick it up. When the execs saw early versions they were horrified and wanted to cease production immediately, hated the costumes, characters, and dialogue. "Nobody talks like that!" I think we all know how that one turned out.

There are other examples of movies EVERYONE thought would bomb. "They're making a TITANIC movie and adding fictional characters, OMG it'll sink faster than the ship did." Another one of the most financially successful movies ever.

The way I see it is we'll NEVER EVER have break through movies like those ever again. Especially if all you people keep going to these remakes making them even marginally successful. If no one went to them they'd stop making them.

Another tactic to be wary of: Excessive pre-release hype. Spend enough money to advertise and saturate the media to get a huge opening weekend turn-out before everyone finds out the movie sucks and tells their friends not to go. Some of the most over-hyped movies have been some of the biggest bombs.
Boy, they're hyping this new GODZILLA movie pretty good, wonder how it will turn out?

Movie pre-hype is normally inversely proportional to moviegoer acceptance. The more it's hyped, the worse the movie.

They just did it with Divergence. Huge advertising- little return in comparison.

Got a better chance with Godzilla. At least I'll go see that remake.

Star Wars kinda tried to sink itself in the beginning because ORIGINALLY it was hyped as a love story. (which just happened to be in space) But luckily it saved itself.
