There's going to be a mass exodus from these failing states. They just don't get it. More regulation and more taxation=less people wanting to live there.

I am seriously worried Virginia may be following in the ways of the blue states soon. And then I'm outta here.

Good luck in NY. My family moved away from there in the late 60's when I was just a little tike. Thank God.

Vancouver BC is doing away with the AirCare program at the end of this year on cars and light trucks. They will be focusing on heavy-duty diesels instead. It's interesting to read their reasoning.

VA is a blue state now!!! NOVA has overtaken the rest of the state. Pretty sad $hit. The people that vote blue in the US mustn't mind regulations. They also outnumber (or outvote) the people who prefer personal freedoms. I fear we may never recover from this Socialist movement.

I've lived in NY for 34 years, 5 years in WI (which wasn't bad), now MD for 3. This state sucks!!!

The greatest generation gave way to the aggrieved generation. Tyranny at the hands of those that once asked for tolerance and understanding. My car addiction is under assault

The "OTHER" check, I was told, is when your car is hooked up to NY DMV, which is required via the OBD port, your INFO is sent to Albany. If their is ANY outstanding tickets, warrants etc... it will notify your local Police, which will show up while your waiting. The Owner where I get my inspections done told me about it, he witnessed it first hand.

In the awesome state that is NJ...new cars get 5 year stickers. Drive off the dealer lot and straight to the garage to take your cats off, nobody will care. After the 5 year, OBD2 plug in inspection only (which is good for 2 years).

That does sound pretty good compared to NY. We're really close to one another. I live right on the NY/NJ border by bergen county

But they did tell me that since my car is a 2014 and was bought last month, they could not put high performance headers or exhaust on my car because as of January first NEW YOUR STATE has adopted California emissions standards. So they can't put them on and if I did, I would not pass inspection - New York sucks.
You don't have to worry about that , there are bigger things coming down the pipe

I live in NY and hate the damn morons that run this state. I have a friend who runs a shop and now NY state is installing cameras on the inspection machines to make sure that they are running inspections properly. So the days of showing up, grabbing a sticker are over. These things happen historical when a nation goes broke and it's population is dead asleep. The state/nation acts as a mob boss shaking down its own citizens. Once this is done the police are unleashed with draconian laws that punish the innocent and law abiding. Thus if there was a would be criminal sitting on the fence the motivation is given to break such laws, which in turn brings down the over reacted hammer of the state. Wash, rinse and repeat. We are living in a weird time a Casino Gulag is what we are being turned into unless we wake up.
