its actual a new process called spray on chrome out of florida, the process lets you chrome anything then add the color you want. The sample he shot were much more orange I said the same thing about the shiney new penny. I showed it at an event last night and got nothing but positive response. I would have liked a darker orange but in person it is pretty nice and the orange does look good. Like I said its a new process thats going to take time to perfect. I will buy extra parts down the road and try to get darker but in person this is pretty cool. He could have got closer to the inferno orange but that took red over the orange and I didn't want to pay for an extra step on a new process. Theres a show this sunday lets see what the car show people think.

maybe they were just trying to make you feel good.

I would get it redone, maybe then it would look better.

Well i hope this new process was free or very very cheap, I wouldn't pay much to be someones guinea pig and have it turn out like that. If it's new and you weren't a 100% happy i would ask him to correct it especially if you paid for it. I'm not tryig to be an ass but I don't see how that could look good in person.

so far I see a lot of "not my thing", sorry I didn't buy a black car with black interior and say I have a show car. Actually go to a custom show and see who wins, the more bling the more love, keep the factory putouts for daily drivers. Custom is just that the more detail the more love from the judges. Factory painted engine covers are just that, factory. Its not the color I wanted but it is getting pretty good response. Same with the "trunk" carpet and helmet, details are everything. Thanks for the input. Lets see what those of you that actual own a new camaro did thats not cookie cutter factory. Plastic stripes and car color engine covers oh thats going to win a show (well maybe in the dealers show room). Not being a jerk but custom is just that. Also the stripes are a mercedes color that has the same gold flake as the inferno and the engine pieces show it to in the sun.

Whatever you like. It's your car. Does it match your grill?

The grill I left factory but I am waiting for the bow tie for the hood blanket in the same orange chrome. I also need a light under the hood because of evening cruise nights which will make the engine actually glow. Post when figure out the light situation. Any ideas on under hood lighting options?
