We may have used the same thing, but ours was called shampoo instead of soap, but the results were the same. I am going to try the Turtle Wax Ice soap next. It, like the Mequire's, has no wax in the product. If it does not work, I will be buying some Meguire's very quickley.
On a side note, I did use the TW Ice Detailer on the hood once as the whole car got covered by sprinkler spots, and I wanted to get them off. It did a good job removing the spots, and left a slight sheen that was goon after a few washes. I know its not the fancy high end stuff that many here use, but the Turtle Wax product line, and Meguire's as well, is doing a good job for us.

Yes sir...I have that square sponge as I ordered that with the VRT. Car was in the shop all day, so no heat or sun was on the hood. However, I did not do circular motions, I did full length runs up and down the hood as this not being wax, I did not figure the circular motion was needed. Maybe that would have helped. But even so, I had some blotchy spots. It certainly is great stuff for putting on a good UV coating and protection.

Add some to the sponge and rub it into the sponge, use a circular motion when applying it and apply a thin even coat. Let it dry for a few minutes and buff with micro fiber towel. Adds a nice sheen that is not too glossy and no streaks. Good stuff....I like it...

Yea but those blotches should buff right out. Also make sure the car is dry. Any water that dribbles on it while your applying will wipe it off. The stuff seems like it has to cure for awhile before it gets wet.

I thought they would buff off too, wiped it, let it dry more wiped it, etc. did not really help for some reason. Definitely no water on the hood....it is almost 3 months old and has not seen water yet! I don't drive it in the rain and have not washed it yet since the day I picked it up! Guess you have to drive them to get them dirty! LOL. I will probably have to wash it soon.

I use Meguires Gold class car soap, and immediately dry with a good quality(not made in China) micro fibre cloth. NO dressings on my wrap, looks mint and MATT as it should look.

I gave up on my hood and had it painted mat black when I switched to a custom hood, much easier to take care of now. The vinyl wrap I found to be way to easy to scratch (fingernail will do it)

And again...to each his own.
It is called protection. Sure, when I washed my car I dried the hood right away and no streaks or spots, looked fine! But, I wanted to protect it and give it a deeper rich look. The VRT has UV protection to prevent fading and the Matte spray is a sealer to help seal the wrap from damage. My goal was to make it look better and protect it, not just to wash it without spots.

Indeed each to his own

It all boils down to the theme of your ride, meaning if you want rich black tires, with rich black trim and rich black rear spoiler, on say your red or yellow ride, then I concur.

In my case, my car is already rich, shiny black, so making the matt trim black and glossy defeats the purpose of a matt contrast if you catch my drift (wink), so a true flat black on my tires, rear spoiler, hood, around windows is what I seek.

Now of course, over time, if I don't "feed it" once in a while, it may turn that old faded dark grey look after a few years, so I can see your point on UV protection, alas my car is weekend racer/cruiser, so it doesn't matter this to guys like me. Some of these soaps do have a bit of "oils" in them, so it helps the cause.

Then there is the streaking issue that is an entirely different topic.

How did you change your gloss rear spoiler to Matte??? Have it wrapped? It is not Matte from the factory.

I'll give you a two part answer.

The '13 1LE rear SS spoiler is painted a slightly different black than the regular SS rear spoiler. Same spoiler, but different paint code. I'd call it a semi gloss realistically speaking, if you dry it well, it leans towards the matt side of the spectrum.

I replaced it with an Anvil spoiler, and I used matt Plasti Dip, so none of the above matters to me no mo, lol.

That makes sense! My 14 1LE rear spoiler is more of a glossy satin, so now my wrap on the hood is a deeper more satin looking black...kinda matches the splitter and spoiler more. I like shiny! LOL
