Wow! That appears to be a clean break. Is it brittle from heat? Because the pics don't appear so.

Exactly. There is no heat damage. It's soft to the touch inside and out. I'm no expert, of course but I don't see or feel heat related damage.

Yea, I would think if it got hot enough to sever a clean break like that it would be stiff and brittle to the touch. Possibly a defective wire . Did you see the heat shields in the link I posted above? Not the prettiest things but possibly effective at shielding heat.

Did you find this broken wire yourself or was it after the dealer inspected it? I'm asking because just maybe some butt wig cut it to justify their findings.

Ahhh...10-4.... weird deal for sure on that wire. I suppose your plan is to simply replace the wire/s and go from there?

Already replaced. Picked up from the dealer this afternoon. I was billed over $300 for the repair and diagnostics despite the fact that I had onstar run remote diagnostics. I provided the error codes yet I was still charged for diagnostics.

Why am I not surprised? Post up your results in the coming weeks and say if your problem returns. Particularly if on the same bank and cylinders. Otherwise...
