Well...... You were going 19 over and if FHP stops you for speeding...... 99% chance you will be receiving a ticket as well. Doesn't matter what you drive or who you are that's just FHP.

heh, I've gotten a ticket for doing 3 miles over the speed limit. he was a real young guy, definitely new to the force and said that should teach you not to pass a cop.
judge dismissed it of course but what a waste of time. i always pass cops that drive too slowly, even if they're going the posted speed limit I go at least 5 over.

cop didn't give you a ticket for the tires at least

Very expensive dinner!!! Funny thing is I think the restaurant is cursed for my family. my bro in law went there last week and got towed!!! I don't disagree that going 19 over deserves a ticket. I was just pointing out how the cop was fixated on my car and not the crime! also not to happy about my tires being gone at 3800 miles.

You're not missing anything. Standard traffic stop. OP could have been driving a GEO metro and he still would have been spanked.

I love it when someone blows by me on the highway at 80+ mph. I just keep some distance behind them and keep them in my sights. When you see their brake lights light up you know to slow down. They are the look outs for you.

The cop was doing his job. The larger issue is, that cops are much like politicians. The laws simply do not apply for them. I do everything that I can to avoid talking to them. The point of discrimination is still valid, even though it likely does not apply in this situation. If you are driving in the fast lane with several other cars, you are the most likely to get a ticket if you are in a Camaro. It is simply guilt by association.

I will admit the cops pay more attention to this camaro, than they ever did when I had a C6 corvette. The other day I had a local cop see and follow me, so I drove 10 under the limit, for like 8 miles and he tailgated the crap out of me. Still surprised he didnt pull me over to try and find something to hassle me about. I rarely speed anymore, just cause they definetly do watch for these types of cars, so honestly yes...I think there is a level of descrimination here.

It doesn't do much good for the cops to get there after the fact.

Discrimination?

What's worse...crying discrimination when you were admittedly 19 over, using the "had all info ready and outside the window" allegedly believing this prompt gesture would excuse your negligence?

Or...saying police are hypocritical as a justification to your specific failure to obey the law.

Did you observe THAT officer doing 85 all day? Was he (the officer who cited you) the hypocrite? Or are you being general to all police are hypocrites?

If I said you were a child molester or a drug dealer because someone in your immediate family is one...is that prudent and fair?

Grow up and get real. Man up. Using the hypocrite crap is childish. Do police take liberties? You betchya! I would too needing to blow off steam and stress dealing with assholes all day.

Peace!

Wow,,. ya,... anyways,..

Yes my 1LE gets blue light eyeballs,... but I am grownup enough to accept that and set the cruise control.

The track is where it's balls 2 the walls.

That said, lets not be "too" harsh on the OP, obviously he has had a run-in. It is a learning experience. One I do not want to revisit lol. Everyone has had one and the 1LE makes it exceptionally easy, no?

Mark it up to experience, and know in the realm of things, cops do keep the peace overall.

The irony is I have a completely integrated Valentine One in the Lexus GS I have but nothing in the Camaro. I did not intend to start a flame war here GEEZ!!!!

He flashes his flashlight at my front wheels then the rears and says your rear tires have no tread. He obviously saw my harness bar. He then left for like 10 minutes and returned with a $260speeding ticket. great night. Should have took the Lexus!!
19 over and you're calling discrimination? Seriously? Jesus would've gotten a ticket at that speed.
