If the work was done well and correctly then, Simply, you just got yourself one heck of a car. Don't get hung up on whether it is modded or not, Its all about how it runs. Because most everyone will go modd their car out. If this guy was a Gm master tech, and it was his car, I can only imagine how much care and love went into his work.

As someone who knows Ted Jannety and the quality work that is done there. I would jump on this and save you a bunch of money on mods a That is about the same setup Im running on my car will give you about 150-160whp. I would have an experienced Mechanic do a once over and check the clutch before buying it.

The ZL1 is a solid car and very reliable.

Thank you to all of you that have replied.

G-oil - yes this is the one at cochran. I agree they have been too vague, which has led to my questions on here.

Does anyone know a trusted mechanic that could perform a once over in the pittsburgh area?

And I agree, I could use the risk as a price reducer, and if they don't play ball. So be it. It's a good price, and the potential in the car is there. I was told it made 620rwhp on a conservative tune.

If it checks out as a quality done upgrades my only question would be why isn't it in your garage already? The ZL1 has prove again and again that it can handle a ton of upgrades and still scream like a trooper. As long as it runs well and the tune is good then I'd go for it.

Stock car is always in most cases worth more than a moded car.

Because even with the mods, we felt he should have been able to get them to come down on price and Cochran wouldn't move on it.

The one concern I have is that the car has 3700 miles and the rear tires are 5/32. That means you will get 6000 miles max out of them. That's about 1/2 of normal people. Why?

Also, the owner was username MTNdew. Anyone know anything about this person?

I just hit 6000 miles the other day and my stock GY's are still at half tread, maybe better.

I just searched the previous owners name and found very little about the car. Got a good LSx shop in your area that you can take the car to and have them look over for you?

You should be able to negotiate new rear tires into the deal. I'd make them sign something that gave you at least 1,000 miles from purchase to bring it back if you experience any problems at all before I was comfortable purchasing it. Out of everything done, my biggest concern would be on the cam install. You probably could contact JRE and find out if they did the install or not then if not they might know who did if the previous owner told them.
