I used plastidip on mine. Came out really well and only took about 15 minutes to tape off both bowties. I did 4 coats of plastidip to completely cover the gold. It was about 4 weeks ago that I did my bowties and they still look new.

The bow ties on a '14 are not the same as previous years. Vinyl doesn't work real good because of the texture of the surface. Plasti dip is fine, but masking is not necessary.

What did you use or how did you keep the bowties in place after applying the black rtv? Thanks

The easiest is to buy a set. The best looking I have seen is the work done by River City Creations (vender on here). DIY is the cheapest but not necessarily the easiest.
