As for locking the car with my phone, I thought I'd be able to do it with my onstar account but I can't. Is there another way?

The Onstar app won't do it on 2010 Camaros.

I apologize for any inconvenience. You can always give us a call and will send a signal to remotely unlock your doors for you. To request an unlock, call 1-888-466-7827. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your reply. It wasn't an issue of unlocking the vehicle. Onstar has been awesome. A rep helped me tons during a hit and run. The question is the ability to lock my car from my phone. However, I'm learning that a thief will find a way to get in regardless.

There is a way to stop a frequency generator. You must install a switch that disables the power door locks and/or trunk. I thought about putting one inside of the fuel door. Lock the doors with the fob, then open the fuel door and flick a switch to cut the power to the door locks.

If you watch the surveillance videos of these thieves, they just hover around a car for 5-10 seconds until the doors open. If it doesn't open, they jut move on to the next one.

That's a pretty slick deal. I would like it, but for me I can't justify the $20 a month as bills are tight as is. If I had a 2014 I'd certainly jump on that though.

What is the switch called? That would be awesome. I'm not sure I'd put it in my fuel door since it's quickly accessible. However, that sounds more effective than a simple blinking light.

I know when I had my viper installed on my 2010 I would set that thing off just dropping the wipers after a wash. damn thing would give me a heart attack....LOL. if you stubbled and bumped the car the slightest that thing would wake up half the neighborhood, had a blue flashing light along with the factory red. always liked to think and criminal seeing those two flashing might make them think twice.

I wouldn't put any kind of electrical switch inside the fuel door...... Gas fumes and sparks don't mix well.

Now, that sounds like a really good system.

So any time you lock your car with the remote the oem alarm turns on there are two ways of turn it off one by the remote and two by striking the key in the drivers door and turning it to unlock most oem alarm will turn off. This is one reson why some people deside to go aftermarket two differs system that can work indpaent from each other. How ever I think it might be somebody that might have acess to a set of master keys. The passkey3 also know as the chip in the key only stops you from starting the car if it is not programed how it will not stop you from open the car. They're are a few type of people that can get masters keys Locke smiths and recover agains
