I looked at the GTR when I was shopping for the Camaro. 4 page disclaimer (inside the car and separate from the owner's manual) indicating that the warranty would be voided if the car were taken to the track turned me off.

I can't fault you for the trade. I would do the same. I'm holding out for a ZR1 in a few years, assuming we don't have another financial crisis.

Good luck!!

One question: What about it wasn't for you? I'm just curious. I'm not trying to sell you on it, as there are a few things about it (minor) that I don't like as well.

Gl with the Gtr, Idk why you didn't do a pulley change instead on the ZL, or take it to a good shop? You would be making way more HP and be faster than the Gtr? Plus less money for the kit than to trade in

You would need a ton of work on the zl1. I bet it wouldn't be very drivable at that point. Gtr is frigging fast.

Good luck. Absolutely love the GT-R. Be sure to post a pic when the swap is made. See if you can get a pic of the cars together.

My kids are big F&F fans and love the GTR. I had no idea it was an auto trans only car. Please post some pix, they are some sweet cars for sure!

Times from the 1/2 mile challenge we had a couple of weeks ago in IL. Not sure what the improvement is over the Z (not posting to be a dick, just curious and since I had the info from the race day I figured I'd post it)

Huh? Why? There's a GTR here by me that runs mid 10's with some bolts ons and E85.
Pretty sure I could get damn close to him with my mods on E85 and I'm FAR from undrivable.

Subtle "you'll hate it after a few months" post.
I've heard that a few times.

Thanks guys. Loving the car so far. I absolutely made the right decision to send the Z to a new owner. I've had a 700 mile round trip today and I'm kind of exhausted. This thing is wicked fast from a dig...and I didn't really beat on it. I will say that getting mobbed at every gas station gets time consuming . I'm in Nashville tonight with some friends. I'll try to find some cool spots tomorrow and snap some pictures of the beast.

Thanks man. I need a back seat or I probably would own a ZR1.

I enjoyed the car, but I REALLY missed all wheel drive. I wanted a GTR when I bought the ZL1 and I've never been able to shake that feeling of "I settled" for a lower performing car. I also absolutely detest the fact that people can take a V6 and "clone" a ZL1. I got tired of people asking if it was a "real" ZL1. I also like the idea of running mid 10s with a tune

No man, you're good. For what it's worth... Those Falkens were/are great tires!
