I was told to keep my tires around 43-45. When cold, I have michellen super sport tires . 255 in front and 295s in back. Is that to much ?

Is that anything like overfilling the oil so you don't have to check that either?

Lol, that's the only part I overfill in my car. Never overfill the oil, things can get real bad if you do that. Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria.

Cold mine sit at around 34. That's only coz I've seen them hit 40 on a 90Deg day and that freaked me out so I keep them under a couple of PSI. The good book says they should be 36.

So keeping mine at about 43 cold is to much ? It doesn't vary for different types of tires ?

43 cold seems high depending on the tires - surprised that your car doesn't float off with a gust of wind especially on a hot day!

Unless you're racing and want them bald & sticky then I'd say 36 cold max. A little less air is going to give you more grip especially on summer tyres. But at 43PSI and a really hot day then you're going to be up near your tyres max pressure rating and that isn't a good place to be.

Perhaps you misheard or he mis-spoke and meant to say 33-34.

Nominal tyre pressure is 36 all round (have a look at your door pillar).

Max rating for the Super Sports is 50.

If it's a daily drive and you want a bit more grip then keep them a couple of PSI under the recommended.

On a baking hot day you can easily see a 5-6 PSI gain from cold. So if you're at 43 cold then you're right up against your max rating when the mercury rises.

No boom today, but perhaps boom tomorrow if it gets toasty!

Lol booms are no good. I just got back from driving so I'm gonna let her cool down for a few hours bc it's like a 100 degrees here and then lower the pressure to 36!
And yea I checked the back tire pressure it was at 49 from 42 went up 7 psi
