yea, it's pretty rare to find an insurance company or adjuster that will go with OEM. it drives their cost waaaay up with negligible benefit. but as for how they handle things (like what happened to you) that's pretty much up to the company. the mistake a lot of people make is (and not saying it's the case with you) they go with the rock bottom, cheapest company they can find. and like with everything else, you tend to get what you pay for.

Possibly random, possibly not. Lot of people in and out of my complex. It was done in the middle of the night naturally. Somebody that is mad at the world? They think they own the parking space I was in? ...well maybe. I have a vague suspect. That one might have merit. But impossible to know short of a confession. Somebody hates that other people have nice things? Probably the case.

Like I told the cops, I know there's nothing anyone can do unless the person is caught doing it- if it's a person doing it out of maliciousness. Funny thing is, I'm friendly with everyone here. At least two other cars have been vandalized here recently. I have told anyone I can find about it, and I have recruited one of the local kids, and that's about as good as anything I can do.
It may not have been intentional, I have seen women with pocket books that have metal buckles walk by cars and let the pocket book drag along the side of the car, same with men with those keychains hanging from the side of their belts...... They just don't pay attention to what they are doing...

...but I don't see how living in MA has anything to do with any of that. The insurance co is the insurance co. Telling the body shop I'm the boss and that they better do as I say doesn't make the insurance co shit or go blind.
Well, I don't dictate to the body shop, but I have found that if I discuss with the shop first, they do not get talked down by the adjuster. I only made the mistake twice of going to the adjuster first, and getting less than optimal repair.

I think I asked you before, but of course I forgot, where do you live?

It was probably the green police, eco friendly ass wipes that see a gas eater car and think they can change the world..... by keying it ?

I will change their world if I see it done. Vegetarians don't take a good punch

Man, your insurance company blows monkey wad. Time to switch.

I'm using Peerless and have had no issues.

. Oh, it was intentional.

Starts on the rear bumper, near the driver's tail lights. Swings up rapidly, pressure increasing until the tool was up between the chromed plastic tail-lightbezel and the bumper, then the tool was dug upwards diagonally, across the vertical portion of bumper that separates the tail-lights. You can tell from the marks it goes right-to left.

Then it stops. Picks up on the driver's rear quarter after a short distance, above the wheel arch. Wavy line.

I don't have the pics here, but it's obvious that it was an on-purpose

Arbella makes me go to the appraiser first. In this case, the damage was from the night of June 27. Discovered morning of June 28. That's a Saturday, and the next week is 4th of July week. Body shop is not open on Saturday, appraiser is. My best bet to get the car into the shop to have work done immediately is to have the paperwork ready to go for Monday morning, 30 June.

Canton.

I doubt it was anyone but a mad-at-the-world passive aggressive type. I actually feel it was a neighbor.

Assault over property damage that happened three weeks ago will have my concealed handgun permit revoked. This aspect has been beaten to death, play on words intended.

It's bad enough to have your ride destroyed. But it's even more of a crime that you pay for a service month after month that tries to get out of providing that prepaid service when it's actually needed. That shit really pissed me off.

That is a concise description of "Insurance Company" Yes they do seem to forget that they work for us.

Always remember: Insurance Companies don't pay for those huge buildings by signing a lot of big checks to customers. They pay for those building by keeping the money.
