Off topic, and I'm sure you've been asked many times before but which one is more fun or satifying to drive, your M5 or Z??? I know, two different animals, but which do you prefer to jump in go?

I drive one for the work week while the other sleeps. Both are very rewarding to drive. But the front end grip on the ZL1 is magic.

I'm curious as to how the steering feels between the two? You mentioned front end grip, is the M5 losing front end grip? I always thought they were corner carvers?

I assume most of you are so young you never had to drive a car without sensors telling you what you need to know. Glad I am an old goat who can drive and park without needing them.

There is minor understeer with the M5. The ZL1 feels more neutral with a higher limit than the M5. All subjective of course. The 285 mm front tire never hurts grip either compared to a 265 mm.

But an old goat like you should be on old school tires.

I'm 24 and I've never driven a car WITH sensors. That's including my Camaro.

So, yea, we don't know what we're doing obviously...

I'm looking into sensors too. I have had my car a year now and got 1 splitter scrape and 1 wheel rash so far. You can be a master driver, or a spaz, it don't matter. One day your number is up and it will happen.

I have a forward facing camera, but its not always on when approaching a curb. A proximity buzzer carefully set to 6 inches would be good for me.., and keep the camera for fun gopro action.

Been there done that already, on bias ply tires. I will quote my father on this matter. Why don't you "just try to make it to 54 years old then you can talk shit"! I'm also retired, how about you young man? Do you know how it feels to wake up without an alarm clock or rushing to take the kids to school?

Won't divulge much information here... I won't.

Hmmmm, interesting. They're both fast cars with deceptive speed and similar balance but I've only driven an F10 twice before.

Your the first I've seen owning both on the board and nothing better than getting an owners perspective. Hell, I was on the fence when I bought my Z with the M5 being my toss up car. Thinking I might take the M5 plunge again because the E60 just didn't do for me after 7 years in an E39. Cheers...

I'm not so lazy I can't tell my wife to get out and see how close I am.
