Hey guys,

New to this forum. I own an '09 G8 GT and painted the factory calipers. I'm planning on upgrading to a four or six piston brake kit as soon as money will allow it.

Figured I'd share the results..

My cousin is getting a Dark Gray Camaro, cant wait to start working on that...

I go to a paint shop that will mix the color and put it in a spray can for $25. They looked up the code for the 2010 red jewel tintcoat and mixed it. I sprayed 3 coats of clear over the stenciled caliper.

Cool Thanks I'm on it, just got to find a shop that will put the paint in a can for me.
One last thing did you take off the calipers to paint them and where did you get the stencile?

The paint is the same paint the car is painted with. Without the hardner. It seems to hold up well. I didn't take the calipers off. I just taped everything off. It took about 1/2 hour on each wheel to do the tape job. Here's where I got the stencil. http://www.eagleday.com/brcapaki.html

Calipers Painted Red Jewel on a 2LT Black with RS Package

My wife 2010 2LT Black with the RS package should be arriving in the next several weeks. She wants the brack calipers painted a red color.. I am thinking about the Red Jewel color with the while brembo stencil.. I know that the 2LT model does not have the Brembo brakes.. Can someone post a photo of the 2LT brake calipers. Any photos of a 2LT Black with the brake calipers painted red jewel, please post a photo.

Damn that looks awesome for not taking off the calipers. I dont think I trust myself enough to tape them off and spray, but maybe using the brush kit could work for me.
