I love my 2LT/RS. I got it for the show factor more than the go factor. The V6 does go, but it is not like a V8 which I understand. It looks like it is moving even when standing still.

No way I am downgrading to the v8, I have enough power with my v6 and the gas mileage is great.

HAHAHAHAHA...you have a measly V6. Just kidding. There is not much a V8 Camaro can do legally on any road that a V6 can not do equally well. The biggest difference for me is the thunderous sound of the V8 engine. And fortunately for me, I live near a gas station that has pretty much the cheapest premium gasoline on the planet. And of course I don't have to listen to haters who like putting down V6 owners.

Anyone who thinks that having a passion for the V8 is only about horsepower doesn't understand what those of us who grew up in the original "muscle car era" did and felt. Me personally, I can't see having a Camaro in a 6 and my wife would have not allowed us to go that way either. We grew up in a different era and the V8 was a part of that lifestyle.
That said... I think people should get what they want and if anyone has an issue with that, it is their problem. The V6's are great engines and, if I had needed a daily driver and intended long distance daily commutes, I'd have had to opt for the 6 over the 8. Gas is just too expensive these days, unfortunately. My oldest boy will probably be upgrading cars soon and I'm going to recommend he go with a 6... simply because of his commutes and his needs in a vehicle. Some guys prefer a Dodge, some a Ford, some a Chevy. Some prefer a V6, some a V8. I would go Chevy V8 any and every day... but I'd never brag that to someone or try to make their 6 look "inferior." It's a different beast, that's true, but not an inferior one in any way, shape or form. I also frown upon those who always "want to race." Go race yourself, I don't get cars to see if my dog can kick your's arse. ![]() When I have to go chasing around town driving, I drive my V6 Blazer... because it gets good mileage. I'm not expecting the full sized Blazer V8 guys to belittle me. They never have (might be an age related thing?). Just ignore them. You got what YOU wanted.

People are just ignorant. I went through the same thing with my V6. I actually had a girl say "awe" when I said mine was a 6. Way uncalled for! I shut peoples face up when I told them that the naturally aspirated V6 had similar 0-60 times that my supercharged 5.4 V8 has! And a HUGE difference in gas mileage and handling!

It's a touchy subject. Really I guess the 3.6 is powerful but fast car it does not make. A stock SS Camaro is hardly a fast car in the grand scheme of things. But knuckleheads respect anything that will burn the tires all the way down the street and the only props they give V6 guys is "runs pretty good for a V6"
Excluding the imfamous Buick Grand National of course.

When I had my v6 I had the same thing happen to me, It got really annoying, These modern day V6's are just as fast as the older V8's

I love both and I had a v6 too! I love seeing all 5th Gens! LS, LT, SS, ZL1, Z/28, COPO's. are all sweet! If you think not than you're kidding yourself! Can't say that the cars are only good because of the their V8's. I could care less about a car with a v8. if I don't like the way it looks!
