Update: Tech could not program the keys and modules yet. Just found out my guy was still using his V6 Wire harness for the Fuse box and lights. Supposedly this harness is the middle harness that connects everything. Just sent him a V8 one and he should receive it today.

Hey Guys,

Sorry, its been a while since my last update. No luck so far, but we are getting closer. Just recently we sent him a new Dashboard Gauge assy for the V8. The new harnesses we got him did not hook up to his V6.

So far this swap has cost him a little under $46k, including freight.

Hey Everyone,

Sorry its been a while since my last update. Since then, my customer has given up on the swap himself and decided to take the car into the local dealership there and have them check the error codes and all the programming.

We received good new this morning. My customer has called and informed me they finally got the beast running. The mechanics explained that there was a total of 20 different codes that were mismatched to the car. Everything from the ECU, BCU and everything in between. I guess whoever did the programming in the first place really messed it up.

Nonetheless the mechanics were able to save, and reprogram everything so its all matching. The only thing that inst working is the radio, which inst a big deal. Im glad this is finally over, hopefully it will be a while before this guy needs something else . I appreciate all the help with this swap from all of you. I will post a video ASAP once i get it from my guy.

46k.... and he could have bought a 2011 SS and supercharged it for less than half that without all this hassle... and still retained a little value on the car. So now that he's dumped 46k into a V6 car, it's still probably only valued at $23,000. I'll never understand some people.

It's not the fact of how much he spent, it's the fact that he can say he is the first one known to do this swap! He also put a supercharger on his car, so that's a 10k project. So really he only put 36k in it. I'm getting ready to start this swap as soon as I get a little extra free time aside of school. I know its not going to be easy, but it's the fact of saying that I will learn a lot during this process, and will be very valuable to me in the future. So take it as you will.. Just my 2¢..

Its all about personal preference and if your willing to put the time and the money into this swap. The common thing to do is to trade in the v6 for a v8 and adding the upgrades to it. This guy knew what he was getting into, but was up for the challenge. Knowing that we are one of the first to successfully perform this swap so far is great. I have received tons of messages from people interested on the progress, and i hope this helps them out with their swaps, if they are planning it.

Spoke to the guy last night, he is working on getting a video put together on the engine running smoothly. Right now he needs to get the tune tweeked, because its idling a little low. He still has to upgrade the brakes, and hes thinking about adding a N20 kit.

And BTW the total INCLUDING freight to the islands for this swap was about $46k, including the $10k supercharger kit. This will probably be the fastest car on St. Maarten.
