Here's my little guy. I just got him a few weeks ago. He's a Solomon Island Eclectus. Doesn't know any words yet, he's just a year old. I leave the radio on for him hoping he'll pick up some lyrics while I'm away at work.

A bird flew down my chimney and into my house today. And then I saw this thread. Weird coincidence.

Yeah unfortunately they need a lot of time.

lmao! When I lived with my parents my neighbor across the street had a rooster, that poor thing made my life miserable!! 5am he'd wake up the whole neighborhood. Some other neighbors began a petition and he had to get rid of it =/ felt kind of bad but I was relieved i could sleep a little longer.

Haha I think our my mom got fined because one of neighbors complained. I don't blame her though the rooster was pretty loud.

Thanks, of course we think she's a particularly good-looking sun haha. It's cool to have a bird who is so friendly and has such a personality. She loves to imitate sounds and sound patterns. And her favorite spot is to be on your shoulder. Pirate bird.

Growing up we had (well my parents still have) a Cockatiel. But his personality leaves a lot to be desired. When we got him he was in a cage with another cockatiel that had been abused. I think it's very possible that the other bird bred a mistrust of humans in him. Also, I think the shop lied about his age as he had very little if any discernible banding on his tail when we took him home.

Tree-huggers in their Priuses are always giving me the bird as I destroy their battery induced comas when I rip by.
