Minor update.......... The insurance has been very good about the whole thing and is paying for a brand new GM front rim... So I'm happy about that and I'm starting to like the tires better too. Its going to take another week or so for the rim to come in and I've requested the new rim have Road Force Balancing like my other wheels just had done.

So its looking up! Thx will update more if there is any.

My car was fixed with the new rim and it seems to have solved the obvious vibe. But my car has a persistent vibe in the steering wheel I notice when I accelerate hard say when entering onto a freeway. Not back and forth more a harmonic feeling. I think this is from the driveline someplace.

Still trying to decide what to do about it.

Steering wheel is not logically connected to the driveline in a RWD car. In my opinion to you it might feel like the driveline, but logic dictates the answer is somewhere else.

I have now had my fourth wheel re-balance, this time road force. Still have a twitch in the steering wheel above 60 mph.

My LF assembly was measured at 13 lbs, all others are between 29 and 26 lbs. I'm starting to worry that my new wheels are simply junk.

Thx Chris. Yes the RF numbers you have are rather high.... My dealer noted an Rtype vibration whatever that is last time it was there. They asked if my car had been sitting for a long while and it had been largely parked in the winter. So they thought some flat spotting due to that and suggested I drive it a while more before fiddling with wheel balance etc.

I just can't figure out why I feel a pulse in the steering wheel when accelerating. Or perhaps its going through a sensitive spot in the tires as it speeds up? its not bad but it doesn't feel quite right either. I wondered if an exhaust part or something was causing it even.

I can try having my tires Roadforced should I start with that?

Thx,

Cam

Well, they say you can balance a square tire, it will just ride like shit.

I really like roadforce, had it done on this Camaro and my last new car, and each time, the car felt like new again. Well, except for this time . But it is more expensive.

I suppose this issue could be from a rotor, but my gut says that would be a heck of a warped rotor.

I don't think its a rotor on mine the car brakes smooth as butter. I'm soon due for an oil change so I will ask them about Roadforce at that time. Thx for the insights!

So I still notice a slight vibe in the steering wheel especially say punching to get onto a freeway. It just doesn't feel like tires as the car is smooth at steady speeds.... Am I being too picky is it just the mighty V8 doing its job? It is only for a second or two then its gone..... More of a fore and aft feeling not a side to side as I find tire issues tend to be.... I am picky about this car as it is my toy so perhaps I'm expecting too much?

Is your steering wheel set on vibrate silence or loud? That might be your culprit.
