id say if you had to put new tires on a 14 the car sees 4500rpm most of the time. just kidding. ya take pics of the weights and contact one of the reps on here. Why did you need new tires on a 14. Do you drive for a living? If the wheel was bad enough to take 19 then it should be replaced.

Being argumentative rarely solves anything.

Just take it to a reputable tire shop and have them rebalance the tires and be done with it.

Oh he resides in California, that may explain a lot. You see, in the great state of California, building general contractors and the like, are allowed to throw their crap in the back of their trucks(mostly flatbeds and full size pickups with out tailgates). They then proceed down the road and commence to have their crap fly off the back of their truck. This amounts to anything from nails to glass bottles and everything in between. Which explains the tire replacement.(I realize that might not be the case of the OP and this may be just a generalization) California has no law against this type of thing, but there ought to be, I mean they can just take 5 minutes to secure all the stuff on the back of their truck. Put nails and drywall screws in buckets. Put trash in proper recepticles etc. Over-sized items just put a tarp or a net over it so it doesn't hit the family of 4 in the car behind the truck. Why do you think the Indian cried?

I had one tire replaced because of a nail that destroyed the tire beyond repair. The other two are because im having too much fun. 11547 miles in six months...Ya your statement is true though, owning 4 cars myself, I've had to replace 7 tires this year alone. 4 of which were on my mercedes but I get free tires for that.

19 diffrent individual weights, yes 4 hours to change tires, I sat there and watched them put my car on a lift, then not touch it for 2 hours. I kept telling them but they just kept going back and forth and not doing anything about it.

I might have used some more colorful words. But the reason I wasn't too harsh is because I plan on talking to their boss, and I didn't want him to plan some bullshit lie and get his coworkers to back him up

This.

As much as I like my dealer (and know the staff), I wouldn't consider them for most work that GM isn't footing the bill. We have several good tire mongers in my area that not only deserve my business, but who do a top notch job.

No checking tire pressures, no topping off fluids, and I sure as hell wouldn't spend a second of my time helping them out for a "quick spin around the block to listen to a noise" if the car is .00001 miles outside warranty. And honestly about the whole who would replace tires at a "stealership" there's a lot of people like you who will bring there cars in for some free shit they feel is entitled to them because they bought a car there 3 years ago and haven't been back sense and we'll tell em them need tires, "oh no, I know a guy who can get me a better deal" hahahaha oooook. Then a day or two later who comes rolling in the shop cause not a single "tire shop" could beat out price. It's all in the location, not all dealers are scams...

you're kinda proving his point about dealerships. Most earn the reputation they have.

That person must not have searched good enough. I have never ever had a dealership out price any tire shop or site for tires.

Someone from Arizona calling California "backwards".

An OP who uses foul language and expects good service thereafter.

And a lot of people who assume all dealer service departments are "out to get them".

This thread has SO much win. I'm going to pass out laughing and choke on my tears!

I'm in a position where I don't know of a tire shop to trust, as I've had bad experiences in the past.

I'll be taking my 2LS in for a (possibly?) torque converter issue on Monday. I know for the price of ordering snow tires at the dealership, I could just order tires and wheels from tirerack and mount them myself...but I'm super paranoid about doing anything at all that could later be used to "void" any warranty claims.

I don't know who to trust (and I tend not to trust anyone, anyway).
