I don't know about weight, but average American male height is indeed 5'9".

To the OP, the ZL1 is the only Camaro on which I'd consider getting Recaros. On the other trims, the upholstery doesn't match. I was this close (holds finger and thumb really close together) to ordering a '13 1LE when I noticed that the Recaros don't match the rear seat covers. They should put ZL1 rear seats in all Recaro Camaros.

6'1'', 215 lbs, no problem at all with the Recaros. My car is my DD! Not sure about the comment on the upholstery not matching!

I'm hearing rumors Recaros are uncomfortable, and only good for the Track.

How is your comfort level driving 5+ hours in the Recaros?
I think they are decent by my advice is go sit in them. I could driver 5 hours in them no problem.

are they worth the money? not to me but my car is drive first and toy second.

Some people are huge on seats though. I would rather have 2k in mods on the car than 2k in seats.

they are not as bad as people make them sound I found them to be fairly comforable.

I am not sure if they are still hard to get by you might be able to order them in the car and flip them to someone for some cash becasue to some people these things are like mythical unicorns and they would pay some $$$$ to have them.

Love them, the seats really do hug you if you adjust them properly

IMO the point of racing seats are to save weight first and provide rigidity second. I can tell you that the regular, leather 2SS seats are some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in in a car. Are the Recaro seats even any lighter? If I were given the option between the two seats at the same cost, I'd probably go for the Recaros based on looks (I've never sat in them, so I'd have to test them out, too). However, for the premium and the miniscule - if any - weight savings...it seems more like buying name brand medication. You're paying more for a name than performance.

It matches in the ZL1. It doesn't match in the SS (or, I assume, the Z28).

The rear seat in the SS stays whatever it is that your trim level gets, cloth in 1SS, leather in 2SS. But the Recaros are the faux suede. Only the ZL1 has a faux suede rear seat.

Sat in both. Preferred stock seats, myself. I suppose that makes me a distinct minority. Surprised at how comfortable the stock seats are and how well they hold me.

Plus, the bolsters are soft on the stock seats. The Recaro bolsters seemed too still be comparison. Troublesome on entry/exit.

Spend the money you save on Recaros on a few mods. But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. Happens all the time.

I think they are very comfortable, but they are a little harder to get in and out of. Bought my car off the lot, so it was ,what it was. I most likely wouldnt have paid the $2k extra if I had ordered the car. The stock non-recaro seats were fine I thought anyway.
You know what they say about opinions, everyone has one.
