manual you should be able to beat him. lighter car and same power. auto is a different story I can see that being more about the driver. good drivers have run 11.50-11.70 and that is just fast. the fastest manual I have ever seen was in the 11.90's and most run low 12's.

My car is baby cam only, makes less power then yours. This summer I beat a CTS V coupe by 2 cars and a Roush supercharged 5.0 by 2 cars. Races were done from a slow roll till 120-130. You could beat him if you can shift.

I had both.... My SS was making the same numbers as the OP in a manual....and my best on street tires was only a 12.4.....My ZL1 bone stock made the same 490 but also made 490tq right out of the hole. Bone stock my ZL1 on it's street tires went 11.80's. Your SS is a real pain to launch as a manual. You're only shot of beating him is if he's also a manual. If he's an auto....you have no shot. In my experience of course. If he's a manual....then you've got an honest shot... And I don't think a roll race is going to save you...

will def. agree plus the zl1 suspension is a lot better setup from the factory than the SS, especially if he's an auto, since the standard cars are harder on the drivetrain, with a SS at least. I have full bmr suspension, and still is a very close race with a auto zl1, with same power.
