It is true that that NASCAR wants Chevrolet to race the Camaro, but it is not true that Chevy is planning it.

I agree 100% with GM's decision. I am a huge NASCAR fan, but the Camaro's most unique feature is it's styling. Why take that styling away with a common body template while trying to market the vehicle.

Thankfully, it is NOT a reality....

I agree completely, with both you and Chevrolet. Particularly after seeing what the mustang will look like. If Nascar would relax their templates a bit and allow for more variation between the cars that would be one thing. But as it is ... its better off that the Camaro isn't competing in the nationwide series.

It would create a ton of dirty air in front, and kill the cowl opening for induction....

Very cool looking. The body dimensions look a bit stretched out, but I do like the fact the front looks like a Camaro. I'm suprised they aren't using the foglight area for brake duct cooling though.

Chevrolet did tell nascar no camaro which at first bummed me out because that would've been pretty cool but now I'm on the fence after seeing how shitty the mustang COT looked. Nascar will never have a race car again that looks as good as that camaro cup car does. Nascar is committed to common templates. so until nascar decides to let one manufacturer explicitly brand one of their series im afraid a cool camaro nationwide car is out of the question. It wouldn't surprise me though if chevrolet did endup letting them use the camaro name plate when they debut the nationwide cot in daytona next year but it it will look more like this mustang than that cool looking camaro cup car. I think with the challenger and mustang name being tossed around for 3 hours every saturday, i think they will put the camaro out their . thats just to much exposure for ford and dodge for the cmaaro not to be apart of it, but then again i hate to see it look like this

Not to resurrect a dead thread for no reason. But its happened. Took longer than originally mentioned but Camaro will be in the Nationwide series.
