I'm not sure Matt, I'm meeting a friend up there in a couple weeks to get his car done I'll ask.

No worries, I found a place that does the carbon for $220-230 & they regularly have $30 off offers. They did a good enough job on my wife's car, but if he's that good and around the same price (with carbon, it's prob not ceramic that's still pretty spendy) I'd check him out.
Not a big deal, but thank you! |

![]() They knew it was 3M, said it was the performance film & would not cause any reception issues (so should be non-metallic then), and was not a died film, but didn't know what it was (ceramic, carbon, ???). I was about thiiiiis close to scheduling an appointment next week, but their warranty does not cover scratching (like from rolling windows up & down if there's something in the door whiskers) and the lifetime warranty one from Meinike (via Tint World I think) does. However.... another recent development... the wife's car the fabric separated from the headliner in a good 6-8" on the top corners of the rear window, probably from getting too saturated with the water solution during the install. So now I have to have them fix that, and decide if that scares me off enough to not use them again. their normal cost is $230 with everything guaranteed for life, but they'll do it for $190 for me since I had them do other work on the car. So it comes down to a negligible $10 more for a better install but with less warranty. Hmmmmmm...

Is that the shop across from Lowes ? I used to go there for years, there was an installer named Richard, a really nice Black guy, he was the best. The placed changed hands a couple years ago, I went there when I got my Z and wasn't impressed with the reception or attitude they gave me when I asked for Richard. Seemed like a couple young guys run it now...beware. Thats when I switched to Autoshield and couldn't be happier. I suggest you take a ride to there shop and take a look at the cars he does, there must be 500 11 x 12 framed photos of some of the nicest and most expensive cars in South Florida.
It's worth the ride, make sure you speak with Pepe if you go up there. |

No the Meineke is the big one at Sawgrass. I'm sure it's part of their chain or a franchise but it's one of the nicer / better equipped ones (WiFi, clearbra plotter, very clean shop). Their customer service has been absolutely outstanding, some of the best I've had. However, their quality has not been up to par.
The nice thing is that they warranty their work well, and it's reasonable, and there's Meineke's all over the US. However, dealing with the little quirks has been less than desirable. Granted, my wife's car is not in perfect shape, but it's an 03 Mazda 6, not like it's a beater or anything it's a plenty nice enough car and overall in good condition. But I've had them try to fix the brake pedal squeak twice (they didn't charge me either time, just lubed the pedal mechanicals) and it still does it. The alignment is ever so slightly off (could be because the tires were not rotated for probably 15k), and now the worst is that fabric separating from the headliner at the corners of the rear window. It's really too bad, otherwise they would be the perfect place for that kind of minor stuff to me. I think I'll probably wind up getting an appointment for next week up there. I'd love to have a bigger chain warranty the work (and not have to practically drive to Boca to get there). But you cant argue with quality. |
