I heard it may be added later in the model year, kind of like how they added Summit White later in the model year...

No offense meant young man, I guess they have used that term for quite awhile.

It depends on if you want the headlights to come on when they are needed. Otherwise, turn once to the left and then turn to the right.

Actually Canadian cars won't allow you to turn off the DRLs under any circumstances like US cars will. Maybe there's a way to wire my halos to my DRLs so they stay on all the time too. Do you guys know if that might be possible???

Yep. Essentially, you're turning on your "park" lights. In addition to the halos, the tail lights and side markers are turned on.

Yeah there's been a LOT of grousing about that over the last 6 months. I still don't understand why you can't turn them both on in the US. There's a law that the DRLs and the headlights can't be on at the same time for some reason but I don't understand the reasoning especially since I don't even think there is a law that you have to have DRLs at all. Maybe it's just a policy of GM; not a law.

And while you're playing around with switches you might give your CAPS LOCK key a little attention! :-]

I don't understand this...I tried this the other day for the first time when it was cloudy and rainy...I usually leave the lights in auto but I wanted the halos on so I clicked once to the right (while at a stoplight). I could see the reflection of my lights in the car in front of me and although my parking lights were on, the halos were not. I had to click all the way to the left to turn off the auto lights then click on the parking lights (=halos+parking lights). I guess I need to try this again in my driveway so I can get out and check.

Actually that was "the Autronic Eye - the first automatic headlight dimmer" which was available starting in '53.

Cadillac debuted an industry-first "Twilight Sentinel" system which automatically turned the headlights off and/or on at dusk/sunrise in 1964.
