well if they would have made it a 2009 they could have launched as the 40th anniversary edition from the car it took its design cues from?

Surprised GM missed a great marketing opportunity and some pretty cool badging...

This is somewhat similar to the Corvette. The C3 model ended in 1982 and the C4 came out in the spring of 1983 as an 84 model which was made for the remainder of 83 and 84.
