Yes the tension plate that pushes the yellow thing against the chain is MIA and the yellow thing is cracked. Time to pull the oil pump.

It's possible to get the pickup loosened without dropping the pan. But it Ain't fun.

Pan is off the engine and got the piece from the tensioner out. Ordering a melling oil pump, a new chain and LS2 dampener today. I cut the crossmember with a sawsall so I'm ordering the bolt together flanges from CFD as well so I can put the crossmember back together nicely.

Flu has been kicking the sh.. out of a lot of people this year. Good thread to have standing by for when someone is replacing a Cam and wondering why it could be a good idea to get the LS-2 Dampener. Hope you're back to 100% soon.
