I would sell everything else and keep the Camaro
I would definitely not keep a rebuilt title vette over a bought new Camaro with mods....that's just crazy imo... The V wagon is an awesome car (I owned one) and you'd get decent coin you could roll into the house. BTW - Good plan streamlining your fleet and putting the equity towards a home. So you want to keep a fun car, truck and buy a house. Why not sell the C6 vette, the SS Camaro, V, and the evo. Keep the C6Z and truck. That would be ideal. That way you have a badass car, that with a few mods or great tune will smoke all of them. Then the truck can get paid off quicker with selling all the other vehicles.

Keep the V wagon! One of the rarest cars on the road period!

Thanks guys and I definitely appreciate the feedback and opinions as this will help me with what im keeping. Here is my issue really,
The 06 C6 is not really worth a whole lot of money and I'm in it for really cheap. I have been daily driving the crap out of it lately. Just took a road trip from houston to Baton Rouge la to swap an exhaust for it and it averaged 25.3 mpgs at 80-85 with a handful of spirited runs here and there. It pulls very strong and is reliable but its an auto (not my thing), its definitely not a pristine mint garage queen, and the previous owner was obviously a smoker (smells). I can swap the carpet out (i already put new seats), and add a wide rear body kit and new paint job and a tune (i already have a cam kit not installed yet) and it would be fun and cheap. The C6Z speaks for itself and is a mint 3LZ fully loaded (worth good money), the V wagon is in the same category (worth a few pennies), the Evo was impulse purchase and I never drive it but is worth a decent dime as well. I live in a man camp currently (company housing) but want to cash out a house in a suburb of Houston before I leave my job (if I'm not laid off first) lol. I have a number in my head for a decent (1800 sq foot newer house) and with selling those plus the Camaro and keep the C6 and my F250 diesel I will be golden with a few dollars left over (not much). Problem with keeping the V or Z is I will have 15-20k less cash for buying power (house) instead of the C6 base. The difference is not very significant between the ss and base c6 bc I modded my ss out and its worth less $ being its far from stock and I did not keep any of the stock parts bc I did not intend on selling it. Sorry for the long rant but this is where I am and it kind of sucks. I dont want a mortgage under any circumstances for personal reasons which is why I'm buying outright btw. |

Thanks, more than a few have suggested the same thing and with the difference in price I think the ss would be smarter to keep. That is pretty much how it is looking for now plus I might be able to squeeze out a 6th gen around this time next year as well (sell the ss next year).

I figure to jump out now on my terms rather than chancing a layoff when its a blind hit. Although all my cars are paid for (except the f250), I dont have a comfortable amount in my savings (thanks to mods, and more cars I really dont need). As mentioned I hate being responsible and mature but its time to narrow it down to one car and the truck. |

Yeah modding is the worst thing thats ever gonna happen to your wallet (except other major shitt). I'm trying to stay boltons this time and if the car aint fast enough...change the car for something faster stock thats gonna hold his value 10x better than a damn fully modded car. But its so fun.. ![]() My plan is to sell the 5th gen and wait for the 6th gen..ZL1 or a Hellcat, or a GT350..

Dog stays with me! I got gim when be was 8 weeks old (took him from his mother). That was over 3 and a half fun years ago, He has never spent more than a few hojrs away from me.
Yes he has been offshore with me drilling, on several Mexico race nights, several car meets, plane rides all over the u.s (next to me), and travels with me to work and lives in the mancamp with me (no bs). If someone kidnapped him and wanted any of my cars as ransom there would be no questions asked. He is beyond amazing. |
