Just think how nice it will be to not have to explain that it's only a v6 to everyone who compliments you on how nice your car looks..and then asks you if it's fast...
and that feeling of wanting to slink down in your seat when you see an SS on the road beside you.. |

Just do what I did and skip the V8 and go for the ZL1!

for me it was not. In order to even get the diff in 0-60 you pretty much need to be a pro with perfect condition. On motorcycles I can hit 0-60 limits with perfect condition. I am more of a top end speed junky I have hit speeds over 174 MPH on motorcycle and 167 MPH in a car. Now having made that statement I wanted a vert, all verts are limited to 155 MPH. So again for me it is not worth the extra $.

Bummer. Really drags out the commute, doesn't it?

Test it out first before making any decisions. I test drove both and both were a lot of fun, I would've went with the V6 but the dealers weren't taking what I wanted for the trade so I saw the V8 someone referred me to and when I drove that it felt good and they offered what I wanted. V6 is fun V8 is a lot more fun and thensome. If you have the extra cash go for it.

My wife actually wanted the Camaro every since she saw a brand new Synergy Green model at a dealership a few years back. It was a 2010 V6. I told her at that time, if we ever get one, the color is fine. However, it must be a V8. No offense to V6 owners, but in my mind a true "Muscle Car" means big V8 power. Little did I know that narrowing it down to a Synergy Green V8 model makes it a pretty tough car to find! We found ours and bought it on New Years Eve. Got to drive it a few days before the snow started flying, so it's in storage now for the winter. Now, I just read these threads and dream of good weather to come....

I think this is somewhat of an obsurd question. Is an extra 110hp worth it? (Depending on your year)... Obvioisly it is. the question shouldnt be is it worth it. it should be, do u want to Want to live with increased payments with your current financial situation. For both the car and the insurance id imagine. If money is no object, obviously you should do it.

Test drive both cars then make your OWN DECISION, not what everyone else things!!! Now to answer your question I think it's worth it for you if you could afford it and aren't financially strapped. Yes most people think the 8 is better, but that doesn't mean the 6 sucks just different needs for different people and I could guarantee you if you pull the trigger you won't ever look back with no buyers remorse. Just my 2 cents

wasn't worth it to me when I upgraded my ride, I just wanted the vert a whole lot more than more power.....and yes I test drove both v6 and v8, ya i liked the v8, just didn't think it was worth another ten grand.
after owning a v6 for two years I found I was rather impressed with the performance, so I stuck with it and have absolutely no remorse, however if it is what you want and can afford, then by all means get it....after all, it's gonna be YOUR car, and YOU will have to deal with it

If power is your thing there shouldn't be any remorse. Be prepared to spend more on fuel and tires.
