I couldn't figure what kind of "signal" a 5% depression on the gas pedal would send to the throttle mapping that could be altered. The mapping will still respond with X amount of throttle based on Y signal. All you can do really is change the Y signal.

This may not be the greatest product for some other cars, but it does seem to skip over that terrible weak spot at the start of throttle application. It's like the throttle mapping gradually approaches a 1:1 ratio, so the different SP settings start further up the mapping, and thus closer to a 1:1 ratio.

I'd like one of the Vittese guys to clear all this up if they can.
One way to check it would be use a ruler and at different SP settings on the controller open the throttle up so the readout is at the same percentage at each SP setting and then measure the throttle position at that setting.

I'm no expert on this, but (on a factory SS anyway) there is definitely a "lag" or hesitation when you punch the gas (however slight). With the Vitesse TC (depending on the setting) there can be NO lag in response time. It's adjustable so the higher the setting the les lag, to a point where SP09 feels instantaneous when you punch it.

It's hard to describe but great to feel.

I think he gets this.

He wants to know HOW it works though.

Thats like asking Apple to release iOS as open source!

Scorpio, maybe this Jalopnik article can help understand the workings and how Vitesse manipulates it?

GM would never have achieved their MPG goal if this was the case.

Using this thing at the upper settings destroys your fuel economy. And your tires.

Gas and tires can be replaced though

I don't mean being set from factory, I mean integrated to the car, like the competition mode button.

Right, like a mild to wild switch throttle switch?

I switched from SP4 at a light to SP9. When I just touched the throttle and...

Thanks for the link...interesting article, always good to know more...but yeah, I guess what I'm asking is sorta like a proprietary secret.

I was just thinking that the Eco modes may also be good to use in bad weather conditions. I remember my driving instructor and dad used to say when acellerating on slick surfaces to drive like you had a raw egg between your foot and the acellerator. The Eco modes would kind of do that for you to keep from spinning the tires when slick.

I've been afraid to use the Eco mode because I don't want it to throw a code that would cause the car to run in a lean/limp mode, needing some sort of reset from the dealership. Not sure if this fear is justified or not, but I believe I read about codes being thrown in ECO mode.

Something like that, hell, GM could give Vittese a call, partner up and build in into the mytouch screen...

I think that was in early versions. I have been reading several have been using it with no problems. But I am not sure if they had the LFX .
