Not to burst your bubble but high 10's at 700 rwhp isn't anything to be excited about, high 10's can be acquired with mid-500 rwhp and a good 60.

That said, you've not had an issue yet, but you will. It's inevitable.

No worries. Just avoid those LS9's and you'll be good.

What you insinuated in your response didn't give me a warm/fuzzy feeling either.

Just a FYI about Steve. When I decided to build more HP this winter I wanted to upgrade my stock clutch that was actually holding up very well. I informed him I was looking at several different brands. He took the time to answer all my questions in a phone call and never once tried to run down another manufacturer in an attemp to get me to buy his product. In the end I went a different way. if I doesn't work out I'll definitely call him back. I went with the brand I did only on the recommendation of friends.

I appreciate the kind words, I hope the clutch you picked works well for you!

No worries man, I don't think jrhagen is a "bad apple", he's just defending his purchasing decision and he's probably used to vendors on forums just trying to sell stuff. He's got a right to his opinion just as much as I do, no biggie.

Let me know if you need anything!

I had a Monster Clutch in my built '02 SS and liked it, when my factory clutch goes, more than likely I will purchase another Monster Clutch. Hopefully this time I get some decals!! Just messing Steve.

A friend of mine has a Monster in his 441ci TA. He beats the hell out of it at the track and it still works as it did on day one. Great product. I'm sticking with the stock ZL1 clutch personally but will go Monster if I have to some day.

I have had 4 clutches in my car and the 5th is being shipped as I write this. The ZR1 is worse than the stock ZL1. I destroyed it in one day at the drag strip... One day.... and at that time I only had about 800 whp.

I've never run a Moster but I must admit that Steve was up front when I called him and told me that at that time he did not have a clutch that would last in my car. I sure can't bash him for that.

My car has a lot of power and my rear gears are set-up for 200+ mph in 5th gear in the mile. That means my car will go over 60 mph in first gear and I have to drag the clutch a lot to launch. I have had a few 1.4 60 foot times and many 1.5 times. My car is about 4500 pounds with me in it right now.... I'm hard on clutches.

ZR1 Corvette does not work for drag racing. Stock clutch is better.
