I was contemplating a 416 stroker using a Callies/Wiseco rotating assembly; however, this 1LE low lash solid roller camshaft package has piqued my interest.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=401078 I'm going with the T&D shaft mounted rockers, Frankenstein heads and a Cam Motion LLSR, don't know if I'll make the 551whp/504wtq that the linked OP made, but it should turn some heads with a 3600 stall. FWIW, Ryan at Gwatney is having Frankenstein massage LS3 heads for 0.700" lift on a LLSR build. Give Kip a call at Cam Motion and see if he can help you with your build. |

I'm going to move this to the forced induction section...
And... I just installed a 417 LS based motor in my car.. 3.9 stroke, 4.125 bore if I remember correctly, Darton Sleeves, Callies BBC polished crank, Ultra Billet Rods, Ross racing piston with ceramic tops and an anodized sidewall, 10.5/1 compression ratio, half filled block, ERL block girdle, AllPro heads, Jesel valve train, Solid roller cam, billet roller lifters, Dailey Dry sump seven stage system... Custom in house intake manifold with a huge plenum and very short velocity stacks... custom in house turbo manifolds, twin 76 mm Precision CEA wheel turbos... Siemens DEKA racing injectors at 225 lb hr... Looking for 2,000 RWHP or more... 8,100 - 8,200 rpm shift points and 9,000 rpm red line... Time will tell... My car is for mile and more land speed racing... and occasional drives on the street... Here is a link to various members engine builds as well... It's a sticky here in the forced induction section... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=311407

Build it around the power adder. No reason to go huge cubes. Forged stock cube will do 1100+ all day on twins.
Twin 56+, forged rods/pistons, and enough fuel and 1000+ is easy. AGP kits have done 1000-1400+ time and time again, no issues. Complete reliable good kits that perform and are made to last the long haul.

Like this guy? Don't see a reason going that big with boost. 350ci will make plenty of power on a boosted motor. Still not sure why I went 416. Guess it was cost. Only cost me 200.00 more. Brand new 2014 LS Based 350 ci V-8, 2.9 Liter Whipple Supercharger, Turbo 400, COPO Camaro out for the first time at RT66 Joliet 5-10-14. No reason to go 434 or 441 unless max effort NA build. Just gives you less block, less cylinder, etc. 416 isn't bad just because it is more stroke and not more bore, but even then you can get a better piston. Something like a 408 or 390 is what I would do for a max effort stock style motor build. If you do a LSX, RHS, ERL or aftermarket block with stronger bores then just do a 4.125x4 and let it eat.
If your doing twins, put the money in solid pistons, decent rods, then focus on fuel/drive train because the turbos can do all the work.

Hard to make big power NA in AZ. I would expect 490-510 depending on how aggressive you go unless you do e85. The gas/heat out here just doesn't support big NA power.

I agree I may be a bit over built for the hp but there's plenty of room to easily add power. I just decided to stop here since I want to keep it strictly street/daily driver/comfortable. I don't want to go past my stock A6 trans. Can't hardly get traction on the street as it is now. Long story short though. Once the motor was sitting on the floor one thing led to another. :-)
