Neither will my pension plan.

Have you house re-assessed. Costs you a few bucks but the difference in taxes can easily pay for that.
There are also lawyers who will argue your taxes and that usually lasts ~10 years.
+1 property tax adjustors work!

It's a wash... in fact I'd rather have no state taxes.

As far as Turbo Tax I've used them for years UNTIL this year. They re-organized their packages and the forms like Schedule E were moved to a more expensive package.

I hated to change but went with TaxACT for 12.99 download. It even imported my info from TurboTax PDF file. Filed on Monday and 7 days later had my refund. TaxACT was even easier to use IMO

And then 2 days ago TurboTax realizes the mistake they made and sends me info on how to get a 25 dollar rebate if I had already purchased their software. Pretty sure there will be some changes in their packaging next year.

Yeah, Turbo Tax's price differences this year were laughable. I opted to not buy the Deluxe this year, and instead opted for the cheapest package. I click next, and then there's a dialog box that says YOU'VE USUALLY USED THE DELUXE PACKAGE. HERE, HAVE IT FOR THE SAME PRICE AS LAST YEAR. Haha. Jokers.

Yup... they figured out how bad they screwed up and did some serious backtracking.

Lost me for good because now that I tried TaxAct, I found it's way better and cheaper too.

I've been using them for years. This year was a lot harder to fill out than usual. I luckily didn't caught by their pricing error and got deluxe for dirt cheap. Return was done, submitted, and accepted a few days before this incident. First time I've owed taxes due to getting divorced before end of 2014 year (divorced Dec 15th).
