How is the gasket going to help?
Good point, Comrando.

Fwiw I got replacement mirror glass (driver's heated) from a dealer in TX because of a stone chip, $85. with shipping iirc. Sorry to hear and good luck, OP!

Im not even sure its cheaper to only buy the mirror skeleton without the shells or mirror ect.

Just go buy a broken one and take it apart to steal the parts from it.

#1 is right, but try to find a broken one on C5 for sale (or @ junkyard) before spending that kind of money. The bolts tore out of the frame that the mirror wraps around.

If only there was a pdf available to show you how to replace the parts: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=297215

They should pay the deductible, and you should get this fixed at a body shop, because the door is bent and the paint is damaged.

their insurance will not cover it if he went around them on the shoulder. he did not say if it was a 2 lane light stop or single. maybe that's why he is looking to fix it himself.
