Many on this site would agree with you, but this car has to appeal to a broader customer base. Not many will see an SS out there and be willing to pay $1000 extra for an automatic then another $1000 GG tax, and still have a slower car than a manual (heavier with more driveline losses). Some? Sure. But there are a lot more that will pay an extra $1000 for an auto and trade a little performance for better mileage, without any GG tax.

Hello all.
I am reading the broshure for the V6 and V8 versions of the Camero. The V6 says 305HP and the V8 405. Is GM pulling the telling us a lie or is that at engine HP only?

Engine HP vs RWHP (rear wheel hp at the ground as measured on a dyno).

The LS3 (426hp) makes around 350-375 rwhp depending on dyno.

The L99 A6 (400hp) makes around 315 - 330 rwhp depending on dyno. The
L99 A6 is an automatic and thats why its numbers are much lower. Automatics lose a lot more HP through the transmission.

The V6 Camaro (305hp) makes around 240 rwhp (FYI).
