After trying Pandora and then the USB... USB hands down. Sounds better than XM too. I don't have music on my phone so I can't compare but I would think similar to Pandora.

I have a 160GB iPod. It works 90% of the time too but every now and then it will not be recognized. Usually unplug/replug works but sometimes that doesn't even work and the only thing that does is the next time I start the car.

All my music on a USB thumb drive set to play all random is all I listen to in my car and my truck.

Bluetooth on my '15 works great with my Samsung Galaxy S5. The phone has the Pandora and Stitcher apps, and a ton of music on it. The car displays the song info (on the downloaded music) but the menu will only show when plugged in through USB or the AUX jack. Never had any connection issues.

I've connected it all 3 ways and never really noticed any difference in sound quality. I also only have the stock sound system and for all the negative comments it gets, it sounds ok to me. I adjusted the equalizer and while it's not Carnegie Hall, it sounds pretty darn good.

Haven't tried an iPod though I've got one.
Mines a 2010 and I use a 32gb flash drive also. I've never updated my PDIM, which I think may resolve some of these issues. Mine won't read the artist info on some of the files, but the music is still there and I can still play them by either going to the song or album views.

I also never updated the PDIM. Via USB, the sound from my iPod will develop static after a while, unless I make sure to power up the iPod before plugging it in.

I'm wondering using Bluethooth instead would solve this problem. The 1/8 jack does avoid the problem, but then song selection remains with the iPod.
