Just got my v6 exhaust done yesterday. Cut the stock exhaust behind the cat, replaced the stock h pipe with a resonated xpipe and then eliminated the stock resonators and mufflers so straight tubes out the back. It sounds mean and throaty. Obviously not as deep as the v8 but for a v6 it sounds good

I'm more than three times that age and the V6 is fine for me. Over 300 HP and fast as all heck.

Remember that most Camaro owners have a V6, but I don't think the same is true of folks here at Camaro5. Almost everyone will tell you that "THEIR CHOICE" of car is the best (including me - HA!).

If the trim options are what you are looking at, then the RS option as detailed earlier includes lots of things you might want to add later anyway. If it fits the budget I'd say go for it.

your dad's probably right. V8 power for a neophyte can be borderline irresponsible. besides, your lady friends can't tell the difference. I prefer the 2LT-RS

The SS is more than enough for me lol just saying it would be a great starting car with all that power and decent gas mileage. I think it's 50/50 between the two models but everyone has their opinion. Either way whatever the person gets I bet they will enjoy the heck out of it either way, just don't want to see a wrecked thread.

...also, if your Dad is paying - there is a big price difference between a LT/LS and SS.

with that said, Welcome and enjoy the car!

- Is the 2LT worth it or is the 1LT fine and are there any big differences
- Loudmouth AxleBack exhaust or MRT v2.0
- Best CAI?
- Tune/chip worth it
- Subwoofer
- Interior footwell lighting

Any extra add ons I can add to make my Camaro faster and look badass?
You seem to be pretty knowledgeable already, and familiar with many common and popular "issues". Surprising that you left out a few of the basics....:

Dad is buying it for you? (Therefore, you probably don't deserve it, is a common theme)

A manual trans is better?

Are old guys (including dad) worth listening to?

Mileage is better?

All of the above is nobody's business?

Good luck, welcome, and nice first post.

There is no Camaro RS.

You will have a Camaro LS/LT (1LS, 2LS, 1LT, 2LT). If you save up for an V8 DO IT!! (1SS, 2SS), then there is a ZL1 and a Z28.

RS is just a package for the car, like the 1LE performance package.

No one says they have a Camaro 1LE only it is a Camaro SS 1LE.

While I am sure your calling it RS because it souns cool, there is no such thing.

(just looking out for a future Camaro owner, dont want the trolls to hit you hard before someone warned you)
I'm sure they'll be hitting up your grammer and spelling first.

Congrats!

It's a awesome car for your first.
Get the highest model you can afford.
Cold Air Inductions or RotFab
Tune isn't worth it on the V6 unless your going FI. Just get the VTC and Vmaxx TB
Subwoofer....yes get one.
Yes on the foot lighting. OEM

Nice to see another young owner. I bought my Camaro (Myself) when I was 16, and even though I really wish I had an SS, it's probably not the best idea for someone our age. A piece of advice; don't try to act cocky or anything on the forums, especially if your parents are paying for the car. Many older enthusiasts don't see how people as young as us could respect the car for what it's worth.

As for your car, the V6 is plenty of fun and can still get you in trouble. I wouldn't suggest tuning it since you'll void your warranty, but I would recommend an exhaust upgrade and a VTC (Vitesse Throttle Controller). I went with the MRT V1 which has a great sound, but like many have said it does drone a bit on the highway. The VTC will give you much better throttle response, and will definitely make the car seem faster. I currently don't have a CAI, but the Cold Air Inductions intake is on the list. Have fun with the car, and good luck once you start modding (you can't stop).

Be sure to post lots of pictures when you get it. Welcome to Camaro5!
