I'm 21 now, bought a 2013 RS 1lt, traded in 14 months later for a 2014 2SS RS, mind you no consigner or anything. I've had remorse a few times just with the price tag, but I can afford it. I've not had any thoughts of trading up from a 2SS because I know it will get me In trouble. Sometimes you just need to live life and do what you wanna do, and if you can't afford it then work for it.

Buy a used SS 1LE if you're second guessing. So long as you're good with the differences in what others have highlighted (cost, gas etc). No need to worry about whether you should get a ZL1 afterwards because it's less than 10K to strap a whipple charger on there and put down more power than the ZL1 anyhow. You may have to upgrade a few other things but my buddy hasn't and drags it with no issue yet (2yrs). Way cheaper than a ZL1.

I wouldnt ever daily drive a v8 again, so my next v8 will be a garage queen and my v6 Camaro that I have now will be a DD.
Just to let you know this v6 with a 2-3 bolt ons is as quick as any v8 a couple years ago..being able to beat v8s in your v6 is pretty satisfying.

I love my 2SS/RS and one day it will be my sons. I love it so much that my next purchase will be a 1LE 5th Gen, that will be given to my daughter. Both of my kids love the car and like to ride in it and take care of it as well. I really enjoy seeing their excitement on taking care of and working on the car.

the best deals will be at the end of the year when the weather is turning, new 2016 models are on lots, and they have to get rid of 2015's
I'd wait... also see if you like the 2016 better |

I am not bashing on the V6 at all. I love my car. It is the most fun vehicle I have had since my 94 Vette. It wasn't an immediate remorse, or even that severe. It has slowly grown as I have seen and especially heard other 2SSes out there and when my buddy picked up a 2010 2SS with Long Headers, Cat Back and CAI. The sound is just sooo nice.
I test drove one today and simply loved the get up and go. Yeah I could put some bolt ons and get close to a 2SS, but those same bolt ons can be put on a 2SS as well. Even still I don't think the sound would be as nice as a 2SS. For the same price of a SC or Turbo and everything that goes with it, would be about a 2SS anyway. I am in my 40s and I am at the point in my life that when I want something I will get it. Life is too short not too. I had a relatively close call with death a few years back and definitely realized this. The main reason I got the 2LT was the mpg and being able to drive on 87. However, with my real short commute to work my 2LT only gets about 18 as it is. My buddy gets about that with his 2SS. He does have a little longer drive though. So I will get my 2SS eventually. I had a good time dealing with the salesman and his manager. Almost humorous. I walked away since it wasn't exactly the deal I wanted. But I know I will be back. Maybe closer to the 2016 release. I am not that fond of the redesign. I will have to see em in person, but I like the current model's lines, curves and looks much better. The new fastback design leans too much towards the mustang look for my taste. I really like the hood on the 2015 so that is what I am aiming for, and definitely want the 2014 tail light design. I know some don't like it, but I love it. Leans more towards the 60s style. Anyway, Bowtie for life and I am looking forward to a 2SS. Anyone interested in a 2014 CRT 2LT with 9,500 miles?

Nice. Love the C6. That will be my car when the kids are moved out. Unless the lottery hits before that
![]() The dealership had about 5 Z28s on the lot too. Man those are sweet. But I like the tech luxuries too much. A 2SS shall be mine... in the not too distant future. |
