I went to do that when a couple was circling our car in a parking lot. I pressed the lock button, then the remote start... nothing. Did it again and the horn sounded from the alarm arming. Tried the remote start again nada. When I finally got to the car, I realized that I was pushing the trunk release and not the remote start. So instead of doing the "cool" remote start. Like a DORK, I popped the trunk and honked the horn at them!

Then, to make me even less cool, I had to close the trunk before I got i the car. At least the horn got their attention and they moved on.

On a related note, NO WAY will my remote reach 100 yards. I'm lucky if it reaches 30 yards. My Tahoe will, but not the Camaro.

IDK what the range on my remote start is, but I can tell you how to make your range longer if you want to.....hold your remote up to the bottom of your chin and point and push. Your body acts like a big antannae and will extend your range. Don't take my word for it, try it!

I was at Tae Kwon Do class and some girl was starting to lean in towards my car and I hit the remote start. She peed herself and I mean alot. Felt kind of bad but should not touch my car.

I did that last week to a 16 or 17 year old kid the other day.
He was about 2 feet in front of my car taking pictures when I started mine up.
He jumped and his girlfriend started laughing at him because she saw the parking lights and then looked and saw me pointing the remote.
He looked around with a sheepish grin and saw me.

I did that after getting out of the movie theater (from seeing Transformers 2, of course). As we were walking toward my car, there were a bunch of kids gathered around it almost in a circle... I hit the remote start, and they all just kind of disappeared to their cars, haha...

And now 2 months later, I can't wait to do it again
