It isn't a prius, remember. Just make sure your in the right gear and not driving like a maniac for the best mileagle.

What is sad, is I hear the V6 owners are getting not much better than us, some of 'em anyways.
Oh dude, I know. I'm not upset or anything and I wasn't expecting 24MPH, not even if the stars were aligned and we enjoyed World Peace for 24 hours. It is what it is. I'm not fooled and still smitten by the car regardless. Don't get me wrong, I've done a few burnouts already, smoke and all, but usually I treat it, well, right. Not too soft, but not abusive if you know what I mean. Second gear is my favorite though. Has a nasty, nasty kick and loud exhaust growl when accelerating after the shift (M6). It's normal. Just not like my Cobalt SS/SC.

Didn't think of it that way. Yeah, in New Jersey, 65MPH is often WAY too slow. In moments people in Volkswagon Beatles and Toyota Prius' are flashing you to get out of the way...and THIS is in the cruising (middle) lane!

It's a possible fix for L99 cars there is a sticky in V8 section. It's so the ecu can relearn what gas it's running on. Some people have said it's helps manuals and some have said it did absolutely nothing.

Last week I drove my 2SS/RS A-6 for 60 miles at 70 MPH on I-84 in Ct with the cruise control set. This was between 4 and 5 AM with NO traffic. My Camaro had about 600 miles on it at the time and I was trying to see what the best MPG I could get.
I would call this "perfect" road conditions, straight and level.
I got 26.6. MPG. Again, I don't really care- was just amusing myself on the start of a 6 hour trip.

Pretty sweet... I'm going to try and drive in higher gears for a few days and see what happens. I enjoy the lower gears and have been doing 2/3 around town for the love of the gurgle

Far cry from the advertised 24MPG Highway, but I'm not complaining or surprised. The car is what it is and as a weekender, it could be 10MPG Highway for all I care. Wasn't purchased to be a practical vehicle anyway. Car has 1500 miles on it.

You will never average 24 mpg overall. Fill your tank, get on the freeway and go 70-80 till you need gas. Fill up and head home and see what you get. Reset you DIC first. And don't drive 55, this car will probably do worse on gas at 55 than it will at 80. It is a long legged thourobred and loves to run. Don't worry if there are a few hills, I have crossed the Rockies with mine three times and got 23.5 to 24.5 mpg everytime. That was on cruise control at 75-80 in 6th gear. It went up the the steepest hills the Rockies have to offer on the Interstate freeway system and never lost more than a couple mph on cruise. That's one of the things that blows me away about this car. It performs excellently in so many ways.

They are refering to a performance fix on the L99 cars.

I have been driving mostly around town and I just looked at it tonight and it was showing 22.1MPG (LS3 with 6-speed manual). I have around 600 miles on the car. I took it on a trip on the highway and some moderate backroad driving and a little stop and go in city traffic last weekend. Trip was ~88 miles one way. I got around 25MPG for the trip. And I had to get on it a few times to get around some slow drivers.

The only skip shift mine has is when I get to cruising speed in 3rd gear and skip 4th and 5th, straight to 6th.

I'm seeing some pretty sporadic numbers. On my last tank of gas I got about 11.2mpg avg, but that was driving like a bat out of hell. On this tank of gas I'm sitting at 23.7mpg, but that's 80% freeway driving just cruising at 70-75 back and forth to Raleigh.

17.18 manually calculated after a fill-up today (DIC said 17.8). That's with a 32 mile round trip commute each day. 24 miles on the highway and 8 miles on surface strees. 1500 miles on the odometer.
