We do a lot of dirt track race cars in addition to Camaro graphics. The flying dirt and power washers are hard on vinyl. The 3M will take the abuse and the Oracal comes off. Under normal conditions the Oracal works good, none of the three brands have a problem with fading during the normal life span.

Interesting that you had that issue. I did do Vinyl for my friends Boat, and he had no issues. I know he power washes it. You know you will have me testing this now.

I was not talking about color fade, all the big companies are way advanced on that aspect. We actually had a job where we ordered a purple Avery. It was for a very large fashion company. We cut over 500+ vinyl signs for their stores. They loved it so much that they sent us a different sign to add to each of the 500+ stores. The second lot of vinyl was quite bit different than the first lot. We did not realize it, because we already shipped the first lot and used any vinyl left for another job. There was only 4 or 5 weeks between orders. Color is critical for the fashion designers and they were not happy. It is a funny business, you never stop experiencing new things.

Dirt Racing is a lot of fun to watch, you guys race yourselves?

Used to. The costs got outa control. When I started racing I was spending around $7K per year (not including building the car) to race and win. Now the guys that are winning are spending over $100k per year ($30k for the motors alone). I sold everything and signed a 3 yr. lease on a bigger building for my business. Still go to the track a lot, great way to test vinyl.
