No, I meant the little rib on the intake inlete/outlet tubes, there seems to be enough room to slide the hoses on without actually geeting the hose over that little rib ?
If you are speaking of the intake valley nipple "rib"...no it doesn't have to be over that one. Just make sure it is all the way on and clamped.

Are they sending you a custom bracket or have they already developed a new bracket that anybody can purchase? On their website, there is only one option for the ZL1.

I was planning to order an E2 for my '15 ZL1. After reading these "hissing" and "mounting" issues, now I'm tempted to wait and see how things turn out. And as far as I can see, there are different opinions about the hissing thing. Some think it's an installation/material issue, some think it's perfectly normal.

Sunnyside,
I'm confused as well...lol Elite told me that GM moved the bolt that they (Elite) uses for the mounting bracket for the 2015 E2 cc kits, I don't know if this is true or not ? I have seen several pics on the web and forums , youtube etc etc and there does seem to be different brackets? I should be receiving my new one within the next day or so. As far as the hissing goes..As far as the hoses on the inlet/outlet on the intake, there is at least an inch of the tube that you have to slide the hoses up to the nipple or rib and I bought small screw down hose clamps from the hardware store and they seem really tight. I think I was getting the his from the fittings on the can itself. I will re-install with Teflon tape again when the bracket comes. The trick is trying to get the elbows super air tight and still have them line up in proper position to connect your hoses. Keep you posted....

I've contacted Elite as well, and they told me the new brackets for 2015 ZL1s are in the factory being bent (Still under production) and they would be ready within 7 days or so. Its called E2R Bracket apparently. I'll definitely wait for it.

As for the removed bolt by GM, I'm almost sure I've seen it yesterday when I had a quick peek inside the engine bay, behind the radiator on the passenger side. I might be wrong.

Let us know how it goes with the hissing sound. Good luck.

Yes , I believe the hissing was coming from the can fittings as well. I will re-apply a fresh layer of Teflon tape and see what happens....As far as the new bracket, it is funny how they told me the same thing, they were in the middle of making the new ones and then they said later that day they have already shipped it out to me ? It should be at my house by the time I get home from work today. Fingers crossed....
