No, on the street past a quarter mile, the manual would have walked it, so if point b were any further from point a, it wouldn't have been a contest. Putting aside the driver skill and the fun factor of the manual, why are you so quick to put the auto on a pedestal? The 2 mph trap speed is much more significant AND impressive then the 1/100 of a second.
Lets give you an example, because you seem to be missing the point. A ls1 camaro runs a 12.89, and for the sake of the example, so does the l99 camaro. The l99 traps 2 mph faster, that means that the l99, is a faster car. Okay, they are just as fast in the quarter, but anything past that, the l99 would have walked it without question. Not to mention, if it were a roll race, the l99 would have had no chance, and you would have seen how much more dominant the ls3 manual was. Understand? |

Wow, are you guys serious? Aside from the fact that you missed the point completely, the higher trap speed is evidence of more potential for a greater stock time, so when another driver goes out there and cuts a better 60', the ls3 will be quicker in the quarter mile.
Ok! |

Okay, so we can agree, without question, that the l99 runs a quicker quarter mile, but is indeed a slower car. Glad we're on the same page.

DOnt underestimate 4th gen LS1's alot of the 98 were freaks. I remember seeing a dyno run at 285 at the wheels and they are lighter. Fast cars. I could see it even becasue the 5th gen is a lil on the J Lopez ass side.
