Weird that dealerships aren't knocking more off the 2015 Camaro, usually they are trying to make inventory room for the next generation.
Definitely. Chrysler has the chrysler affiliates program, ford has the x-plan. It's a bummer that Chevy doesn't have anything like that. They refuse to negotiate at all. They of course honor all rebates that GM is currently offering but I was surprised they don't want to drop the price since the 2016s are coming soon. All the ford dealers want to clear the 2015 inventory since their 2016s are coming too.

I misunderstood your original post; I considered both the scat pack and upcoming 2016 Camaro but both the price range of 45k for the way I want them

Historically, GM's fire sale comes at Christmas if you can wait but you will be limited to what is sitting at the dealer. Last year, 2015 Z/28's were $60-62k in Houston.

Yea, trying to keep it under 40k. And nah, I'm looking to buy one really soon honestly. And I figure by christmas there won't be much 2015 options and I doubt they'll do too much discounts on 2016s.

Hate to say it but the new 2016 GT350 cost only $47,000 bucks nothing even comes close to the performance this car offers at this price. The Z28 cost $72,500. If you are in the 30k range then the 2015 v8 Mustang starts at 33k while the new 2016 v8 Camaro starts at 38k.

Yes, this is why the I'm not really considering the 2016 camaro.

This is not a production vehicle, but a collector's edition. Less than 100 are being produced and only half will have the track package, I would be shocked to see one under $60k.

For under $40k a 1LE is a no brainer...

Or buy a used C6 Vette

Chevy and Ford have put so much into these new generation of sport cars that it would depend more on which body style you like, rather than performance. They both do well on the street and on the track and unless you are buying to race, 01 second difference isn't going to mean anything to the average driver. I prefer cheby but aint nuttin rong wit a stang. Just my .02.

Spot on.

Nailed it.

X2

Couldn't have said it much better.

Good luck getting 1 of 100 total GT350s being produced for anywhere near 60k.

That's just the 2015 models. 2016 will have a regular production number, probably similar to the GT500/ Boss.

If it was me I'd go with the Mustang. Last model year of 5th gens vs new model year of mustangs 6th gen. 6thgen > 5thgen.

To bad you weren't my passenger last night....I was at a car meet when all these mustangs pulled in.....90s to 2015 gt were represented. A while later I was coming home when 4 or 5 pulled out of a coffee shop ahead of me.....as I passed the coffee shop another 5 or so pulled out behind me. It was a 4 lane road in town. You could have had your fix of mustangs .....they were loud....but they found out my l99 was louder. Good group of guys. I wonder where I read mustang guys go to the track while camaros go to car meets. It's on camaro 5 somewhere....that guy was out to lunch with that statement

More info on the Mustangs is that the body panels alignment have been a problem for some. So that can be something to check or see if you can live with. Maybe 2016 Mustang will have the panel alignment issue fix.
