The current heads are 5.3" bore space Dart Billet heads with my ports and valve locations CNCed in them. These engine are the ones that are running the fastest and setting the world records right now. Speed Tech Nitrous did the nitrous work on the manifolds.

Just got my American Racing headers in for the Camaro. Wow is all I have to say. I told them they are to cheap and I just dont say that to often. LOL
The workmanship, stainless all the way, the headers are sealed perfectly and have a transition (pressure recovery) cone in middle of the collector. They are not just thrown together. I cant wait to get them on the car. I should have them on the car by next week end.

Very nice headers, high flow CATs for the money.

Will get picks of the install.

How do you like the HPTuners? I am thinking about getting it but I haven't used and type of home based software before. Where I live we don't have a dyno where I can run the car and tune it properly. How easy is it to get custom tunes for example I am putting on the ARH LTs, borlas s-type and the New ERA intake? I am also planning on a supercharger and/or camming it in the future. Will they have files for that?

I love the software and I have an Innovate LM2 wide band O2 to hook up for proper logging. If you dont have a dyno around there you can still tune with a wide band and the HP logger utility. This is not a plug and play power tuner that has ready set perimeters. This is high end software that tunes the actual fuel maps, timing maps and transmission varaibles. Just thought I would make that clear just in case someone didn't know that.

I have never tuned like this. I have tuned wide open throttle on a race enigne but never anything this complex. I have a steep learning curve for the next month or so. The transmissive alone has hundreds of variables most with interrelated dependency's. Things just keep getting more and more complex as technology advances. I thought computers where going to make things simpler. Yea, right!:bangdesk:

Go to the HP tuners sight here
http://www.hptuners.com/

Read up on the basics of the software here.

Just got my baseline tune from Mike at New Era. Flashed it today and went out to play.
WOW what a difference a little tuning makes. I am shocked at how rich these engine run from the factory. The plugs where black, the exhaust ports and tips where black. The engine just sounded flat. The tune cured that and now the thing sounds crisp and shifts like it should. It kicks me in the ass now! Guys, if you have not had your car properly tuned you owe it to yourself to go get it done! Its a whole new car and if someone told me that I had to drive this Camaro without a tune now that I have experienced how much better it can be, I wouldn't even want one!

Don't you think the radiator sits a bit loose in the slots for the intake? I was thinking about getting some rubber and putting in there so it sits a bit more snug.

Next installment please. Hey, I’m interested to see how far you can take that AFM cam. No one is really trying that approach, so it will be something to see.
Glad the AFM drone did not change your mind (though, I must admit, its driving me crazy w/ SLP longtubes, Xpipe w/ loudmouths and powerflows)

Been out of commission for while with work but I got to play with Cam this week end. The wife and I took him out to the Drag Strip and made some runs. The first run with traction control on and going though some slight spin and wheel hop it ran a 12.81 (see ET slip). After that run I took the traction control off and put it into Sport Mode. The tune up has traction control at about 30% on the 1-2 shift and 50% for the rest of the shifts. I did not hold it against the converter for either run as I was afraid to spin the tires and blow the run. With the traction control off and in Sport Mode it ran a 12.66 ET at 110.88. It spun pretty good in first and shook a bit on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. With a set of Drag radials it will go 12.50 at 112mph with no problems at all. I wasted four other runs with spin and shake all the way through first and second even when I tried to pedal it.

My wife asks that you please disregard her yelling. She got a little excited. LOL
