ZL1 came in convertible. And that was exactly what I was wanting. I'm very pleased with the car so far and it will spoil you. Even in the convertible form. I love the Z/28s as well, but they don't fit my needs/wants in a car like the ZL1 does. So I stand pat. I won't rule out that I may buy a Z/28 in the future, however. But I won't get rid of the ZL1 to do it. Mine isn't a 2015, but I still wouldn't do it. Glad you came to your senses.

No way I would do it,the ZL1 to me is the ultimate Camaro, you can have your cake and eat it to.

The Z28 is spartan, a good spartan but not what I would want.

If you want a track car the Z/28 is the one. The LS7 is a great engine, Chevy has done a lot of the weight reduction mods, wiring harnesses, rear seat, brakes, rear axle, etc, and stock to stock, the Z/28 will beat the ZL1 on the track. I have driven the Z/28 for 7 months and 12,000 miles and as a road car it is rough, but it was designed for the track. I have a ZL1 and love the car. It is a very versatile vehicle, it is good on the track, the strip, and as a daily drive. It is a grand touring car in the European sense, fast, handles well and very comfortable. My choice the Z/28 for the track and the ZL1 for everything else.

I just cant see a stock z/28 pulling a stock ZL1 without corners being involved. When our chevy dealership got their Z/28 the guy that took it to fuel it said it was the fastest car he had ever driven. I think a lot of that just has to do with how much hype the Z/28 got. Don't get me wrong if I could have both I would. I just don't know if I could trade the ZL1 for it. Even my salesman said the ZL1 feels faster than the Z/28. He has driven them all. He also favors the new ATS-V over the CTS-V when he drove them at Circuit of the Americas last month.

This is all based on opinions and personal preference, I own two ZL1's and good friend of mines also own two ZL1's and one Z/28 He has said that he really like both cars, but overall He likes the ZL1's much better over his Z/28 and in His opinion the ZL1 front end look so awesome coming down the road, makes a statement and gets more attention. He said like someone else had stated in this thread that the Z/28 is a more raw vehicle, where the ZL1's was more refined to Him, He felt that if the ZL1 had the carbon ceramic brakes that it would be a hands down choice for everyone. I personally like the ZL1's and have no desire for the Z/28 over the ZL1.

a Z/28 will not "walk" a ZL1 unless the ZL1 was asleep or not aware which gear he was in. I have owned both cars and the ZL1 is noticeably faster in stock form. On a road course, the Z/28 is better but the ZL1 is no slouch. If you want the best "all around" car, keep the ZL1. If you love road course racing as I do, get the Z/28. The Z/28 has no purpose as a daily driver or cruiser as it is so raw. Some will disagree...

Thanks for the insight. I like the first hand experience, it says a lot about the two best Camaros.

If $ wasn't a factor then I would trade my ZL1 for a Z28, but not for any practical rational reason......for me it's simply the badass factor with the Z28. It has several subtle but significant visual upgrades that I think make it look freakin awesome.....the extensions around the front and rear fenders, the large front spoiler, the rear spoiler wrapping around the exhaust, and most of all the rims, which are simply the coolest stock rims on any vehicle. I know I could purchase a Z28 aero kit and slap it onto the ZL1, but then that would just be trying to make a copycat. They are different cars with different personalities. That's just me. I know in my heart that the ZL1 is a better daily driver, which is what I use it for, but I would by lying if I said I wasn't lusting after the Z28.

Sorry, rear spoiler is not the correct term for the rear wrapping around the exhaust.

Driven both many times. On my second ZL1. ZL1 is preferable to me by far.

If you track your car yes, other wise no. I have more faith in the LSa over the LS7. Better internals as well.

I would love to have both but I don't have the space. But I have to say the hood and the front fascia/splitter on the ZL1 is more bad a$$ than on the Z28, just my opinion.
