That twin turbo set up is nice, does it run? What kind of power does it make, any ET's yet?

Thanks! It runs goods, took it to the track on Sep. 2nd and was only able to run 12.3 on a 2.1 60' time becasue I was spinning the tires half the track. I just received sways and DR's, I'm going back to the track next week to see what it will do.

I may tune it and add 1 or 2 more lbs of boost. Right now I'm running 7.8 lbs of boost.

What is the ET that requires a rollbar? 11.5?
No additional insurance required. I think he was talking about the event insurance is costly and to keep that in check they must follow the rules for NHRA tech to a T.

Roll bar required below 11.50, Roll Cage below 10.00 as long as the firewall and floor are unmodified.

Anyone have the specific times on exactly when the '10 cars will have to be there & run? Our car will be far from competitive I'm sure, but I was kinda *hoping* to have the LS7 & new trans (and whatever other goodies we have time to throw on!) in by this event so we could drive down and make a few shake down runs...but it's gonna be *tight* on whether it's done or not!

We usually hit the NMCA event with our '69 Y-Camaro, but it ate a bearing at the last event, so we're running out of yellow toys!

We will have an '10 Camaro there with the newest roots supercharger on the market installed, we won't be racing it but feel free to stop by the vendor area and check it out!

I'll be there. I live here so its no biggie for me. I am entering mine in the car show and probably the race as well. I have 595 to the wheels with 588 TQ now after a few tweeks to my setup. If it looks like I will not even be close to competitive I may not run though. Just gonna see what all is there first.

I need to become independently rich so I can tear my wifes CGM LS3 apart and build a twin turbo LSX block outlaw drag radial car while she's at work... LOL.....

you guys are doing pretty good to rip these 35+K cars and start addding cages and stuff..... man good luck fellas at the shootout. I'd love to attend with my wife's car but we'd get raped by you 10 and 9 second 3800 lb playas....

What happened?

WOW! What a shame ... all these guys that had fast cars that didnt even show up because of a lot of internet BSing. I hope this is a lesson learned. We could have (and should have) had not only a full field of 8 cars but 8 FAST cars. There were only 2 or 3 cars running in the 10s (and HIGH 10s at that). Hopefully people just go next year and not worry about what all the keyboard cowboys have to say.

I know there is some talk with in GMPP & NMCA about what thier going to do with the 2010s for next years event. Lets not let them down! Bring your cars out regardless of what someone else claims to have. There are way too many modified 2010s running around not have had a full field. Think about the message this sends the promoters. They gave us an awesome opportuninty and we couldnt even fill an 8 car field.

My car wasnt even finished and I still brought it. I have no intention of putting a cage in my car any time soon and if I had gotten a tune in it, I would have raced anyway. If they threw me out, so be it, but I would have made a pass at the shootout and had something to talk about instead of an excuse to hide behind. And with the power I made, it would have been a good pass (something worth getting thrown out over I hope )

We have a year to get our crap together and make a killer showing next year. Lets not let the community down again.

A lot of people didn't show up because they didn't have their cars done or they are just dyno queens

I thrashed until the last minute on Thursday night to get the LSA Camaro ready. It's not as easy as people would have you think.

We had several bugs to work out and never made a decent pass down the track. We were there it drove around but that was about it. I applaud those who had their cars there ready to run. Owen and Steve built some wild cars and should have been able to sho w off their stuff.

Because of the 3 run true street style format we were treated instead to moderate Camaros.

I say heads up, 3 qualifying passes and an all run field.

Hell I am still sorting out the bugs.

I hear ya Robin!
Me & 2 friends were thrashin on my car every night and in the end, I started it for the first time an hour before it went in the trailer to go down there. I SOOOO wanted to race it but I never even got a chance to tune it and still hadnt done anything with the fuel system yet.

I was refering more to the people that had posted of being afraid of a field of 9 & 10 second cars. And I really felt for both Owen & Steven .... At least Owen made some passes and I know Steven got the black car running once they got back (put down 860 RW I think) but for the shootout, people with good running cars stayed home. That just aint right IMO.

I really hope we have a similar opportunity next year as I'm certain more of us WILL be ready and hopefully more come out and play instead of stay home and read about it and regret it later.
