probably going to depend on what they find when they tear it down. from the pics it's probably a 50/chance. it will also depend on your insurance company. contrary to what some people here seem to think, they don't total because of airbag deployments or bent frames. it's a pretty simple formula. they will determine the value of your car, then if the cost or repair is under a certain percentage of that, usually 70-80, they they'll fix it. if it costs more than 70-80 percent of the value to fix it they'll just cut a check.

That sucks I would not want my car back if it was damaged like that. Maybe their is a silver lining in this, if they total it you can wait a little and get a Gen 6

I think its totalled. Glass doesn't bend, that's why the sunroof is sticking up. The roof and body are tweaked. You can also see some misalignment on the trunk/body line.

It looks like a total loss. It's going to cost too much to get it back into a safe condition. I was in a car accident in 2014 with less frame damage, and it was declared a total loss.

I can't tell for sure, but if that is a kink in the B pillar it is probably toast. A good sign of frame/structural damage.

If they do repair it, make sure you look into a diminished value claim to get a little extra money since the value of your car will be less after the accident.

It would be a close call from the pictures. Really will just depend on what it looks like when they inspect it. I've seen worse hits be fixed. Hope everyone involved was unhurt. Good luck!

Total Loss maybe it depends on the insurance your using and what you paid for the car. Most are right on the damage assessment they will end up replacing the sun roof regardless because of the pillar damage. Which is likely why it looks out of position. Even so that type of impact repaired will rear little things for the rest of it's life like leaking doors, windows and alignment issues.

Do not submit a claim through your insurance, let them know it happened but that you are submitting through the other person's insurance only. If you submit through yours, you get dinged too. Glad you walked away

Why do people say about the frame being bent? These cars like just about every car these days are uni body construction and thus have no frame. Because of that, when you hit like that car is hit, it can bend a very important structural and very hard to get right part of the car. I wouldn't want that car anymore no matter what they claim they can do. I've been down that road and they are never right after that.

Total IMO. It's what's called a "constructive total loss". If the insurance company is smart
they will total it. Car has excellent salvage value to offset the actual cash value. Also two+ months
rental and open items should total the car.
And also what motorhead said, the car has unibody construction- No frame.
