They do look better with a 255/285 setup though when you go for looks and better handling. My Camaro V6 originally came with 245's, switched to the standard 245/275 setup and it is a lot better.
At least the earlier S197 GT's also came with only 235 tires.

When you get a little more serious about the handling, you go 285's on 11" wides all around (like what the 1LE gets on only the rears) and don't worry what it looks like.

Okay got it. I've always wondered how to distinguish between the V6 and the 8's just never been motivated to hit up the Ford website. Lol

To be fair, 275's are plenty wide to put power down if you're running less than 500 HP

Can't count the P Zeros cause they won't hook for crap, but my Extreme Contacts have been exceptionally sticky in warm weather.

I got my 275 Nittos for the fronts for $220 each. Certainly not as bad as putting 40s on the Silverado. Odd sizes get way more expensive. I run Hoosier DRs at the track and even they were pretty reasonable from Summit.

I have never been a fan of staggered setups. I would ditch the offset stuff as soon as possible - personally. To me, the staggered look really detracts from the attractiveness and complete look of the vehicle.
