Get the ZL1 and dump your current car. I say this based on your posted options.

I did the same, even went so far as to buy an Edelbrock E-force for my SS, but where I wanted to take the SS would have taken much more money than buying the ZL and modding from there, sold the SS, sold the supercharger, bought a ZL1.

Im just thinking that with all the mods my 1LE would need to handle the power that its just not worth the hassle. What are some of you guys thoughts. Thanks
If you want to run in the 10's you want the auto. There are a few of us who have got manuals in the 10's and it is much more difficult to get the power down and row the gearbox. I'm thinking you need at least 60 to 80 more horsepower in the manual to get a glory run the auto can tick off every time.

Having bought one of the first ZL1's, the car is perfect and bulletproof. I have driven to several Camaro Fests across the country. Tracked it at several tracks just goofed off and relaxed in the car. It does whatever you want it to do with such ease, everything is just effortless. It sounds great, handles great and always leaves you with a smile. If you are serious about taking your car to the dragstrip, get the automatic. If you are going to track your car, get the manual. Try to get one with Recaros, they are worth it. If you do not like them, let me know, I will buy them from you.

The Sixth Gen ZL1 will have to be a hell of a car to beat the Fifth Gen ZL1. I have no problem keeping mine if it is not a much better car all the way around.
